Timber Ridge, the ski area near Magic Mountain, which Dick Chase is developing was the scene of a number of '60 gatherings this winter. Dick's homebase is Jenkintown, Pa., where he is with the Fox Companies' real estate developers. Timber Ridge is a private project of Dick's and a partner's.
Eric Anderson was a weekend ski instructor at Timber Ridge and chose that location to announce his engagement to Ann "Jake" Jacobson. They will be wed May 17. 0n hand for the announcing festivities was the entire Gundy clan: Jane and children, Sue, Scott, and Jim. Brooks Wrightnour was there too. Brooks is living in Nicholson, Pa., and is in the family tire business. He has been getting around though, because he spent the weekend of the Princeton game in Hanover at Dutch Holland's place. Dutch and Margie have three boys: Richard, David, and Matthew. Dutch is coaching crew in Hanover. If any of you are ever interested in a clear picture of the current Hanover scene, drop Dutch a line. His views on the student demonstration, faculty involvement therein and the administration reacment are refreshing and forthright.
Dick Weiler may now be able to get up and cheer for Dutch's oarsmen more frequently. He has moved to Sudbury, Mass., where he is district sales manager for Container Corp. of America. I don't want to blow Milt Singleton's Singleton's cover but this is the only way to tell you that he is a special agent in the Office of Naval Intelligence out of san Antonio, Texas.
Albert Pieper is manager of materials for Applied Dymics, Inc. in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ray Keating also has been moving up the corporate ladder. He recently was named executive executive vice president of Keating Insurance, Inc. in Claremont, N. H. Ray received an M.B.A. from Boston University and then completed a three-year tour of duty with Air Force. He and Jean have two daughters Caŕie, 4, and Sarah, 2.
Dr. Joe Oklmoto apparently has taken the rumor seriously that California is smking into the sea and is now a Senior Fellow at the University of Washington in the Department of Preventive Medicine. He's living at 79-77 Densmore Ave., N., in Seattle. On the other hand, Peter Gump has moved to California from Canada. Pete may feel more secure because he is living in a town called Tarzana.
You can tell I am low on material because I am going to throw in one more of these geographical fillers. Old friend, Rod Isaacsan moved to Ottawa, Canada to the Physics Department of the University of Ottawa Donald Smith could give Rod some advice on those Canadian. winters, Don served four years in the Navy including duty with "Operation Deep Freeze" in the Antarctic On July 5, he will wed Leslie Smith Don is with the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company m Boston.
In Connecticut, the McNair and the MeEcachron clans were bolstered recently. John McNair, who is living in South Norwalk is with the International Paper Company. He is now their new products manager DaveMcEachron, who is located in Stamford, is head of sales administration for Richard J. Reilly Ir., Inc. in Stamford.
I had a good visit with Don Landzettel recently. Don is living in Allendale, N. J. He is in a thriving family pamt manufacturing and sales business. He showed me how they make the stuff. It was kind of disturbing because I can't even paint the woodwork without getting it all over me and they can mix up 1000 gallon batches of it without spilling a drop. The firm does a lot ot business in the Caribbean and Don has plenty of excuses to get down there tor some sun.
Terry Newcomb called to let me know that March 1 was the arrival date of Elizabeth Holly, their first child. The Newcombs live in Staten Island, New York.
Some of our law school grads are branching into interesting fields. Paul Cantor and a partner have established a hedge fund called Torman Enterprises, which is located on Forty-second Street in New York City. They are involved with some very exciting financial projects. If you have some venture capital or want to go public, give them a call.
In Trenton, N. J., Albert Stark is with the family law firm of Stark and Stark but he still finds time to develop some real estate projects and an art store.
The hard luck story of the ski season involved Alex Summer. He and the Dave Harrisons had planned quite a ski trip out West, I think. In any event, knowing Alex, it was planned to the last detail, gear already, etc. However, he went for a bit of a warm-up at Stowe the weekend before they were all to leave, wracked himself up on his first run, and couldn't make the big trip.
On May 2, your Class Officers will be in Hanover comparing notes with men from other classes. I am looking forward to my first trip to Hanover since reunion.
