Although Lt. Jon Eastman is officially stationed at the Naval Air Station in Kingsville, Tex., he managed to return North to marry the former Nancy Schofield (Colby Jr.) this past September.
After receiving his M.B.A. from Tuck, Brian Becker entered the Army and is currently a lieutenant at Fort Gordon, Ga. He, too, took time off from his military responsibilities and returned North to marry the former Sherry Crane (Wellesley). Tom Fagan served as the best man and Bill Pederson helped usher the guests.
Last summer, Ron Van Dewoestine married Carol Larochelle. He is in the third year at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School.
Steve Shaffer and Karen Lagay (Elmira) exchanged vows last July. Last June, Steve completed work for his master's degree at Cornell.
Dave Bradley, wife Lisa and son Kari have left Washington, D. C., where Dave was a legislative assistant to Congressman James Cleveland and are heading West for Washington state and enrollment in the Washington Law School.
Now in his second year at Tuck, BillBrandt has been awarded the Allied Chemical Fellowship - which provides full tuition for one academic year.
In another summer marriage, Bob Piampiano and Brenda Taylor (University of Oklahoma '69) were wed. Earl Moses ushered the guests. Bob is presently in active service in the Naval Reserve.
Pete Hayes and Rita Kovanda (Skidmore '67) also got on the summer marriage bandwagon. Pete is working for the Department of the Air Force.
Ed Palmar, now in his third year at Cornell Medical Center, married Lucinda Post, the great-granddaughter of the late Emily Post. I guess we'll have to watch our manners at our first reunion.
Among the 814 men returned home in the first troop withdrawal from Vietnam was Lt. Edwin 'Win' Johnson. He had been in Vietnam for 8½ months and would have finished his tour of duty within a month of his departure. Win is now in attendance at the University of Pennsylvania School of Business Administration.
Steve Ayres writes that he has finished work on his M.A. in geography at Syracuse University and is now a lieutenant j.g. aboard the battleship "New Jersey." His wife Betty (Smith '67) also completed her master's degree at Syracuse and is now teaching school. Steve sent along information about other '67's who are or have been at Syracuse.
Still working on his M.A. in geography at Syracuse is Paul Klungness. Pete Modley finished his M.A. thesis on the proposed Adirondack National Park and is now at Fort Sill, Okla., as a second lieutenant in the Artillery.
Ron Lemberger is in law school at Syracuse and is also enrolled in the two-year Air Force ROTC program.
Alex Nagle received an M.A. in journalism from Syracuse last January.
After a tour of duty in Vietnam, DaveLawrence is back in Hanover finishing up.
