Ron Benson is in Gainesville, Fla., as the first full-time assistant track and cross country coach at the University of Florida. In addition, he is working on a Master's degree which he hopes to complete next year. After that, he is looking forward to having his own team to coach.
On Dec. 28, 1970, Andrew Longacre took as his bride the former Virginia Evans (Mt. Holyoke and University of Rochester). Andy is currently working on his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the Univ. of Rochester, while his wife teaches remedial reading in Fairport, N. Y.
Durham, N. C., is home for Eric Alpert and his wife, the former Donna Arsenault. Rick graduated from the Duke Medical School in Durham and is currently doing his internship there, specializing in pathology and radiology.
A June wedding is being planned by Benjamin Schlesinger and Joyce Glass-man (Mt. Holyoke '71). Ben is a graduate of Thayer and holds a master's degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University where he worked under a National Science Foundation grant. He is currently working for the Bechtel Corporation of San Francisco, a construction firm.
Peter Holden and Barbara Irwin (Virginia Intermont College) are also planning to marry in June. Peter is currently working towards a degree from the University of Maine Law School after having served for two years as a lieutenant with the Navy in Southeast Asia.
A letter came from R. E. Fisher with the news of his life for the past four years. As he put it, he is . . Bob Fisher the 'larger' so you don't get me confused with the Tabard Fish." Bob is now a captain, with a regular commission, in the Air Force and is planning on making it his career, "at least for the next 20 years." Bob and his bride of five months, Cherylyn (Mitchell J. College '69 and UNC at Charlotte '71), are currently living in Goldsboro, N. C., where he is stationed (Seymour Johnson AFB).
