Walter Vom Lehn, and Helen of course, took a long-awaited three-months' aroundthe-world cruise last spring and are looking forward to visiting England and Germany next spring. Meanwhile, they had a bit of an experience with political demonstrations, complete with Policia Nacional, riot squads, tear gas, etc. in Santo Domingo, where they had gone to do a favor for their son, Walt '53, by locating his wife and four children in the Dominican Republic in time to enter the three oldest ones in school while daddy completed his training in Washington for a position as staff physician in the Peace Corps. Young Walt reported that by the time he arrived "the boys were well under way in school and the worst of the settlingin process had already been accomplished." This experience was reported as "yet another manifestation of the spirit that has made the Class of '25 one of Dartmouth's greatest!"

Hal Rider was accorded still another honor when he was selected as "Manager of the Year" by the Southwestern Connecticut Chapter of the Society for Advancement of Management, the nation's oldest management society. "For many years," stated the president of the chapter, "Mr. Rider has given unstintingly of himself, his time, and his energies in behalf of the people of Stamford, Fairfield County and Connecticut."

We have two depressing items of news to report. Lenox Boyce, who was with us during our freshman year only and continued his studies at Columbia University, died November 11, 1968 at Alameda, Calif. Our sympathy is extended to Stan Chamberlain for the loss of his wife, Esther, who passed away suddenly in Provincetown, November 23, 1968.

We referred recently to the retirement of Joe Leavitt to Cape Cod. Since then we've received a more detailed account of his ensuing experiences. He's been building a new house on a hilltop overlooking the harbor and bay at Cataumet and enduring all the hardships which naturally arise during such a venture from dealing with dilatory plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc. He is located within a mile of the Ham Thayers and about five miles of the Bill Jenkinses!

Lydia and Ken Nugent left home for the winter early in January for Siesta Key, Sarasota, Fla. They may be found at Siesta Royale, Apt. #15, 6334 Midnight Pass Road until April 19, where they will be basking in the sun while we in the north are shoveling snow or shivering in sub-freezing temperatures.
