On December 19, a large group of us got together for Dartmouth's effort against Clarkson in the E.C.A.C. Holiday Hockey Festival at Madison Square Garden. It was fortunate that we had all indulged in some fortification before the game; because, although Dartmouth led four to one at the end of the first period, the Green managed to lose the game by nine to four.

Out of the dozen or so sixties at the game, there were several whom we had not seen for some time. Ryan Ostebo and Gretchen were in town to pick up some pointers for the Millbrook School team where Ryan teaches. Pete Eagan was there without wife. She was visiting her family in Italy while Pete caught up with the activities of Stowe, Strickland, Paterson, and Eric Andersen, who were all at the game. Pete is now with T.W.A. in New York. Dick Chase, who is with the Fox Company, Pennsylvania real estate developers, was at the game, too. He still is involved with a development of his own right in the middle of some of the best ski country in Vermont. Hank Talbot regaled Alex Summer, Dave Hiley, and Arnold Sigler with bachelor life in New York City over a few drinks before the game. It must take a lot out of you. Hank was too tired to go to the game.

Speaking of bachelorhood, I made a few remarks about Axel Grabowsky's single status in my last column. These columns are written a full six weeks before you get the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, which is why I am not too embarrassed to tell you that Axel was married December 29 in Boston to Mary-Elizabeth Ford. We all wish you both the best.

Another wedding of note took place on November 23, when Alan Dauson married Caryll Finesman in New York City at the Chapel for the United Nations. A reception was held at the couple's new apartment at 4 East 89 Street next door to the Guggenheim Museum. The bride is the former Caryll Coppens of Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay, Wis. She has two children, Christopher 7 and Michelle 4, by a previous marriage. The children attended as ring bearer and flower girl. Lawrence Danson '64, Alan's brother, was best man. Mike Heitner and wife were at the wedding. They plan on seeing the Dansons in Europe in February, when the Dansons take a skiing honeymoon. Also, at the wedding were Tox Marx, who is pursuing graduate study in Cambridge, Mass., and Mike McGinnis, who is pursuing the dollar for a Wall Street investment firm.

Dick Prior called to let me know that the Dartmouth Club of Westchester will host a Dartmouth Glee Club Concert on March I, at 8:30 p.m., Scarsdale High School, Scarsdale, N. Y. If you are interested, call Dick for tickets at 914-LY 17720. The Tri County Dartmouth Club of New Jersey, demanding equal time, announces that a Dartmouth Glee Club Concert will be held at Scotch Plains High School on Sunday afternoon, March 2. If you are interested in tickets to the only concert to be held in New Jersey this year, call me at 201-233-6290.

Some excerpts from a letter from BobSanders will let you know that he has some outspoken opinions about current Dartmouth atmosphere and activities. "I spent last year as Visiting Lecturer in Geology and Palynology at the University of Nottingham in England. Had a very nice time, and found that the students were excellent.

"Came back during the summer and lived at Post Pond in Lyme, steadfastly avoiding Dartmouth activities, which, in the last ten years have become psuedo-arty to the point of nausea. The 'light-item center' has created many changes, few of which I personally like. Am now doing pure research at Penn State. Very much like it here, although the woods are too full of hunters to be safe country. I am currently trying to create an automatic data processing system for paly-nology and micropaleontology under an N.S.F. grant.

"Unfortunately, I don't see anyone from '60. As a matter of fact, I haven't even seen a Dartmouth pinhead alumnus at all, other than in Hanover. Maybe they all feel like I do about the new Dartmouth, and wear their jackets inside out." We are looking for a big Alumni Fund contribution from you this year, Bob.

Melinda Mitchell sent a fine note about husband John's new job with the Corporate Planning staff at Sybron Corporation in Rochester, N. Y. They were looking for- ward to seeing Pat and Bill Langley over Christmas. The Mitchells' children: Peter, four, and Jeffrey, two, are thriving in the northern climate. Their new home is at 49 Round Trail Drive, Pittsford, N. Y.

The "Spokesman," a weekly paper published in the New Brunswick, N. J., area, was named the best newspaper in its class by the New Jersey Press Association at its annual awards dinner. The paper's editor is none other than Sandy Ingham.

Carl Backus joined the Milwaukee law firm of Godfrey and Kahn in October. He had been with Arthur Andersen & Co. for three years after Wisconsin Law School and a master's degree in tax law at N.Y.U. This past summer he left Andersen and "went to Africa for two months... no special rea- son, just to look around." Just as casual as ever.
