These notes are being written early in February and we are having a beautiful snow storm - the first good one since early January. So far this storm has produced about 8 inches and the prediction is for at least another 4. This is going to make the skiing ideal!!

I recently had this nice letter from TedAllen. He is living in Valhalla, N. Y. "Your life since you 'retired' sounds very interesting. Laura and I would like to travel in Europe, and perhaps we can some day. Our recent travels include a trip to Florida and Alabama in the spring of 1967 and a trip around the Gaspè Peninsula in the summer of 1966 We drove both times. We also visited'Man and His World' in Montreal in September 1968.

"I am a Consultant in the Corporate Traffic Department of General Electric Comnany in New York City. My work involves rate negotiations with rail and motor carriers, on our products and purchases including appearances at hearings on behalf of the company, before carrier rate-making associations and the Interstate Commerce Commission.

"Our daughter, Deanna, was married to Joseph W. Cunningham in April 1964 and have two grandchildren, Michael, 3 years old and Lisa, 2. Our son-in-law received a Master's degree in Marketing Administration from Rutgers last June He is with Nestlè in White Plains in their Marketing Division.

"As one of my hobbies, I play piano with a Dixieland combo called the Ivylanders. Among the other members are Dave Flynn of our class on bass and Roger Raker '38 on trumpet. There are eight of us in all and most of us attended Ivy League colleges. We are strictly an eleemosynary group.

"Besides Dave Flynn, I see from time to time, Bob Estes, George Farrand, and StanWhitman, among others. .

"Laura and I greatly enjoyed the 35th Reunion, and hope to see you again at the 40th. if not before."

It's great, Ted, to have all this news! Keep those ivories all polished up for our next get-together.

Bea and I had dinner with Jud and GinneyPierson and Ed and Peg Knapp not too Ion" ago. Ed is in the brokerage business with Estabrook & Co. in Hartford, Conn., but he is still talking abaut their retirement spot. There are so many places to which he would like to retire that it is going to take him a few more years to explore them all. Very shortly now he will be off for a visit to Mexico. Their oldest son, Ron '65, is a sales representative for a California company but he is presently on an interesting trip to Ecuador. Dave '68 will shortly be entering the Air Force having enlisted for six years. Bill is a freshman at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Hart Krans, who retired three years ago from the staff of the Florida State University, has moved from Gulfport, Fla., to St. Petersburg.

It was nice to get this letter from Start Whitman. "It was good to get a letter from you and especially from Plymouth, N. H., since New Hampshire has a high appeal to me. I continue to plod along in the legal department of the City of Worcester where I have been for the last 12 years. My chief joy in life has been, in these recent years, participation in the local chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club activities. There have been many trips to New Hampshire so I have been to the summits of the 46 peaks over 4,000 feet. Also I have been Worcester Chapter Chairman. As a local trip leader, I am looking forward to March 1 when we plan to go overnight to Hi-Cabin on Mt. Cardigan on snowshoes - not a noteworthy event - but fun for me. I have been to Europe twice for vacations (1961 and 1965) once via Mercedes and the other time in a Kadet."

News Flashes: John and Jean Meck's daughter, Sarah Jean, was married on February 1 to John B. Pinkham of Montclair, N. J., in the Church of Christ in Hanover. I am sure if you were watching television at the time of inauguration you recognized our U.S. Representatives, JohnMonagan and Hank Smith.

Our good class treasurer, George Farrand, after 20 years with Young & Rubicam, Inc., retired as of the first of the year. He decided it was too soon to become completely inactive so he has taken an exciting new job as treasurer of Unexcelled Corporation with headquarters in the Sea-gram Building in New York City. The company was originally a firework's manufacturer but has now become a conglomerate and operates many different businesses including a chain of discount houses as well as manufacturing transport airplanes. So if you are interested in a merger, contact George.
