Happy May. A chilling thought might be that it's been nearly three years since we strolled across the Green for the last time as undergraduates, sat for a few moments on the fresh green library lawn and then climbed a short flight of stairs right out of Dartmouth. We hope that the years have been good, and that those ahead will be better still.

They promise to be for a number of newly engaged classmates. Gus Southworth and Susan Gillespie Moorman, a graduate of Sweet Briar and Simmons, are making plans. Her father is assistant director of the - Office of Institutional Research and Counseling at Dartmouth. 2nd Lt. Chris Miller and Nancy Castellanos, a University of Vermont alumna teaching in Revere, Mass., plan a summer wedding. Trip's stationed at Fort Belvoir, Va.

Mike Passero has plenty in common with his intended, Mary Ann Cecere. After Radcliffe Mary and Mike went to Dartmouth Med School, and then she joined Mike at Harvard.

Ted Amaral is teaching reading in North Reading, Mass., after having the same assignment for two years with the Peace Corps in Afghanistan. Andy Compagna is a member of the Dartmouth Dept. of Romance Languages.

George Detlefsen, who earned his Bachelor's in 1967 and Master's in 1968 at Dartmouth, is now with the Department of Computer Science at The University in London. William Todd, back from England, is a Faculty Fellow at Columbia, and JohnWilkinson is a master at Hillfield College, Hamilton, Ontario.

Dave Stedman has had some training tor his new position. Dave has returned from a year and a half of study at the London School of Oriental and African Studies and some "field work" in Southern and Eastern Africa to take a dual job as assistant professor of African History at Camden County College and 6th grade teacher in the Camden school system. Bet those kids will be able to tell the difference between a Tanzanian and a Kenyan when they see one.

Steve Goodman is a teaching fellow in psychology at the University of Michigan. Henry Sharpe is a VISTA volunteer hoping to utilize his regional planning skills in California. Mickey Handelsman got a Master's in Chemistry and is spreading the molecule gospel in a high school in his native Brooklyn. Chuck Weil is a marketing assistant at General Mills, applying his Tuck skills.

Randy Schulze is a systems programmer for the Continental Casualty Company in Chicago. Don Graves is helping to advertise Firestone Tires in Akron, Ohio. And if this looks a little blurry, call Pete Eddy, he's an instructor in developmental reading for Baldridge Reading and Study Skills out of Greenwich, Conn.

Here's another thought. If the class average income was $1,250 per year, we have an annual income of $1,000,000. Our dollar goal in the Alumni Fund campaign is about $4,000, or 4 tenths of one percent. And we make more. Let's reach in, just a little.
