Some pleasant international and domestic additions to report. On December 30,in Lecham Arlberg, Austria, Richard Wellsof West Lebanon and Elizabeth Atchley ofPortsmouth, R. I., left on a three-weekskiing honeymoon in the Austrian Alps.Dick returned to Cambridge where he iscoordinator of the New England RegionalComputing program at MIT. Elizabeth, aSmith graduate, works for Bache and Co.in Boston.
That was Austria. On the other side, in Hong Kong, friends and relatives of the former Peggy Pik Yu Ho, now Mrs. DanielSouthard, gathered to wish the new couple well. They were married in Connecticut on January 10, and went on a 'round-the-world journey that culminated in a Switzerland skiing honeymoon. Mrs. Southard was a TWA stewardess, based in Paris, before the wedding.
Bill Gruver and Diane Csank (Univ. of South Carolina) had the welcome mat out for their January 17 wedding in Lima, Pa. Rich King was best man, Bob Gilbert, Tom Derderian '67, Jack Perry, Larry Haas,Corky Spehrley, John Pearson, John Fierdico '65, Walt Harrison '65, Bob Murphy '65, Herb McCord '64, Dick Couch '64, Pet Koenig '64, and Gordon King '38 were all present. Hope we got everyone. Bill is a Navy lieutenant stationed aboard the new nuclear sub "USS Henry Clay" out of Pearl Harbor.
Perley Grimes received a law degree from Georgetown University and is working for Cramer and Anderson in Litchfield, Conn. On March 14 he married Karen Zullig, a St. Francis College alumna, now a public school teacher. And later this spring Lt. Gary Broughton ("USS Henry L. Stimson") and Smith grad Sharon Smith, presently a Colchester, Conn., elementary school teacher, will walk the aisle.
Lt. George Vincent, a DCA officer on a guided missile destroyer and wife Andrea (Colby Jr. and St. Lawrence '67) announce the arrival, on Oct. 8, of 7 lb., 1 oz. David Andrew, who has no doubt doubled those dimensions by now. A second Navy offspring is credited to Lt. j.g. Scott Cheyne and Caryl (BU '66) who welcomed 8 lbs., 12 oz. Christie Ann into the world on February 5 at Newport, R. I., Naval Hospital.
Steve Hayes completed his three Navy years and has joined the staff of Representative William Roth of Delaware as state executive secretary in Wilmington. ... JimCason's preparing for his Ph.D. comps at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in June and then will return to Uruguay to complete his research dissertation.
