Coming into mid-April, the Indian tennis team had a 6-4 record which featured the first victory over Yale since 1961, a 5-4 decision at New Haven, and left Coach John Kenfield with optimistic thoughts on the improving depth of his squad.
The Indians posted a 5-3 record during their trip to Virginia and Maryland, including a 5-4 victory over the University of Maryland and a 5-4 loss to a strong Michigan State team.
Tim Greist, a bespectacled senior, who played doubles last year, has blossomed as a singles performer and has climbed the ladder to the No. 2 position. Geoff Dyer, Jock McKernan, and Captain Dave Burwell also give the Indians some capable players who could make Dartmouth a darkhorse in the final weeks of the Eastern League season.
