Junior diver Mike Brown was Dartmouth's leading performer in the NCAA and AAU championship meets at In. Diana University and Long Beach, Calif as he finished fourth in the 10-meter platform diving, fifth in the one-meter dive, and 12th in the three-meter event. He also took seventh in the NCAA three-meter diving championship. Brown's sophomore teammate, Al Rheem, finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly at the AAU meet.
Brown and Stu Vance, who has just returned from military service, have been elected co-captains of the swimming team for 1969-70, succeeding star freestyler Terry Robinson.
At Steamboat Springs, Colo., Ed Damon, the Dartmouth captain and versatile four-event skier, earned Skimeister honors as the Indians finished second in the team standings behind the University of Denver in the NCAA championship meet.
Dartmouth's fencing club posted a 3-3 record this winter, defeating Norwich, Fordham, and Fairfield while bowing to McGill, Harvard, and Holy Cross.
The Indians capped the season with a fourth-place finish in the New England meet as Captain Al Brainerd took second place in sabre and sophomore Frank Watkins was fourth in foil.
