The success of Dartmouth's tennis season can be measured by the team's overall 10-7 record plus a modest improvement in the Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Association mark of 4-5 (up from 3-6 a year ago).
Still, Coach John Kenfield would have liked nothing better than a victory over Army in the Green's final EITA match that would have turned the league record to the plus side. As it was, the Cadets took a 7-2 victory that was only partially soothed by an 8-1 romp over Middlebury in the final match of the campaign.
Ed Cranch, a junior from Ithaca, N. Y., and classmate Geoff Dyer from Winnipeg, Man., have spurred the late season success of the Indians, along with Captain Dave Burwell, following the early efforts of senior Tim Greist. Cranch swept to a 13-3 record in singles competition as he moved through the lower half of the ladder. Dyer and lock Mc- Kernan are the top singles players and also have been the leading doubles com- bination.
