In spite of the fact that the Third Century Fund was conducting its campaign at the same time as the 1970 Alumni Fund the Class of 1906 can be proud of its record in the Alumni Fund. The final result was $4701.66 which exceeded the result in 1969 by $444.38. Our generous widows contributed $3142.63. This amount was $661.23 more than they gave in 1969. Only one classmate failed to contribute which was a great disappointment to me as I was hoping for a 100% participation record.
In July Bill Page visited his two sisters in Bradenton, Fla., and on his way back he stopped in St. Petersburg to visit Jean and Harold Fish. Says they were both in good health and enjoying Suncoast Manor very much.

The Class will be very sorry to hear that Walter Powers’ wife, Ethel, died on May 16th.

I wonder how many of our classmates know that there is a committee in the College named General Association of Alumni of the College. This organization, founded in 1854, is the constitutional parent of all other alumni activities which function through their own organizations. It is responsible for certain important matters such as conducting a trustee election should a nomination be contested. It also sponsors an annual meeting when seniors can be officially welcomed into the Alumni family and posted on alumni programs.
I had never heard of it but for some reason your Secretary has been elected a member of the Executive Committee for next year.
We lost another classmate during the summer when Randall Cooke died July 30 in his home town of Whitman, Mass. Further information about Randall will appear in a later issue.
