As the Class of 1906 enters the "Drop Out" group I hope the members will be more active in keeping the secretary informed of what they are doing so the class notes will be more interesting.
Thanks to my assistants, Art Chapin, HalFish, Bill Page, and Cap Pierce the Class of 1906 celebrated its 60th Reunion with a great record in the Alumni Fund drive. We exceeded our quota by $1,323.69 and placed second in the Green Derby. Forty-three of the 45 living graduates contributed and all of the 51 widows, who contributed in 1965, sent in a gift this year.
The Class will be glad to hear that OliverCromwell has contributed S1,000 to the 1906 alumni fund. The income from this gift will be credited to the alumni fund each year in his name. This is the eighth gift made to this Fund by 1906 classmates. It is the hope of the Bequest Chairman that many more members will join this group.
At the time of our 60th Reunion, HaroldFish presented to the Dartmouth Outing Club library a set of ten books, "The Nature Library," which were the first scientifically accurate nature books written for the general public.
Cap Pierce reports that his grandson, Philip, is enrolled in the class of 1970 and Virginia Luck writes that Charles' son, Edward, is also enrolled in the same class.
One of the interesting sights at our 60th was the three generations of Pages, Bill, John '39 and Jon '68.
Thurlow Gordon is back from his summer vacation at Southwest Harbor, Me., but is still under the care of a nurse. His new address is 2 East 86th Street, New York City.
if anyone knows where a new covered bridge is being built be sure to let Bob Russell know. He probably has the most accurate list of the location of these bridges and is most interested in finding new ones.
