The Kayser-Roth Corporation has named Jerry Cott president of its newly created Century Division which consists of Nazareth Mills, Century Mills and Century Curtain. Joe Graham has been named state inheritance tax appraiser in Los Angeles County and will serve the Western District of the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica. The appointment was made by the California State Controller from a list of qualified candidates established by competitive examination. Joe is associated with the law firm of Shearer, Fields and Rohner, and has practiced in L. A. and in Pomona, his home town, since 1963 after graduating from Stanford Law School. This past August, Hugh Bishop joined the Salem, Mass., office of E. F. Hutton & Co. Inc. as an account executive. Hugh lives in Marblehead with his wife, Annette, and their two children, and is apparently well-known to North Shore residents as a former president of the Atlantic Lobsterman's Co-Operative Inc. and is a present member of the Salem Rotary Club.

Bill Pettway has been elected president of the Pettway Oil Co., succeeding his father who is now chairman. Bill is active in community affairs having headed the March of Dimes campaign, and is currently a commissioner on the Lookout Mountain (Tenn.) City Council where he lives with his wife, Susan, and three sons, William III Daniel, and Thompson. The New Hampshire Association of Savings Banks has appointed John Albee to the newly created post of assistant vice president. John will serve as general staff assistant to the association's executive vice president, and will undertake major responsibility for administrating projects in education. Prior to this assignment, he has been with the marketing divisions of Dow Chemical Company and Atlantic-Richfield Refining Company, and has served as Director of Ad- missions and Student Affairs at Tuck School. John, Barbara and their two kids will move from Hanover to Hopkinton.

Gil Griffin has joined Kenyon & Eckhardt Advertising Inc., as vice president of corporate administration and director of personnel. Gil, who got his law degree from Columbia, was manager of labor relations and urban affairs for Bristol-Myers prior to joining K & B. Extremely active in community affairs, Gil is a member of a number of councils, boards and task forces concerned with opportunities for youth and black executives, as well as several professional organizations. He and his wife Judy and their young son live in White Plains, N. Y.

One of my overseas correspondents re- ports that Fred Davidson is living in Brussels where he works for the International Division of the Borden Company, being responsible for the company's operations in Spain, Sweden, and Germany. He and Mary recently bought a town house and added another deduction in June with the birth of their first child, Sarah. I'm told that Fred has taken up golf and already has a better handicap than Spiro.

A very brief news article said that Mike Nolen has been named director of marketing for Massachusetts Financial Services Inc., the investment advisor to Massachusetts Investor Trust and Massachusetts Growth Stock Fund. A later note from Mike explained that he will be in charge of international sales and that he had left Kidder Peabody where he ran the New England Investment Banking division and Mutual Fund department. In line with the new job, he recently completed a two-week tour of Northern Europe to initiate the company's activities there. Mike and Peggy, along with their four children, Leslie, Bradford, Bruce, and Lucy live in a 150-year-old farm house in Wellesley Hills which they restored.
