A quick review of the past four months shows a regional seminar first at Wawona for both Southern and Northern California alumni. Attendance was just under 100, but all were in agreement that more of the same is in order. Tentative plans call for a rerun at the same location in 1970. We were honored to have Dean Carroll Brewster with us for lunch on October 8. 35 gathered for a chance to meet the man who has taken on such a big job and we all agreed that he seems very capable of doing just that. We just missed having the Dean as our honored guest for the traditional Dartmouth Night gathering on 10 October, when we did have an excellent program with two men from Hanover. Mr. William Upshaw of the Tucker Foundation was with us accompanied by Joel Zylberberg '72. They were out here to help set in motion a program in underprivileged schools. If these gentlemen are typical of the present-day student and advisor, we can look forward to a more normal world in the future.

One of the best college speakers to visit us in some time came on December 3, when Whitey Burnham, formerly soccer coach and now assistant athletic director, was our noon speaker. His description of what goes on with the average student of today, be he athlete or not, how he dresses and acts, gave us a feeling of renewed faith in the old traditions. We hope Whitey can find his way west again, soon.

Tom Hannon '60 is handling all preliminary planning for the visit of the Glee Club to our area on March 27. He has made arrangements for use of the Stanford Memorial Auditorium on the campus at Palo Alto.

Enrollment work has been occupying the time of many of our younger members and now the pay-off season approaches with interviews and the final decision at Hanover. As part of that process, a very successful luncheon was held Friday, December 26, at the Bohemian Club with undergrads, prospects, fathers of prospects and undergrads, enrollment workers all under the leadership of Jack Clow '52, enrollment director for our area.
