Here's rooting for a good attendance at our 55th Reunion coming up this month. At this writing (late April) this scribe is hopeful of being among those present.

A late March note from Chan Foster says he and Dot are whiling away the days (with help of TV) in anticipation that spring will soon be here.

A phone from Ruth Winship Crance, also in late March, reveals a three weeks' jaunt ending up down in South Carolina.

And a phone from Madelaine Bowler, later followed by an informative letter from Jack, confirmed his hospital lay-up and recovery from a prostate operation - similar to one this scribe underwent quite some time ago. Jack says he has gotten back most of the poundage he lost!

A picture card from Betty Rice reports a pleasant trip to Spain and Portugal with a friend from Yarmouth Port and was scheduled to fly home from Lisbon late in March.

Further phones from Bob Fredericks and Pete Pray expressed regret this scribe couldn't make the N. Y. Class Dinner and Officers meetings but hoped to see us at the June Reunion. Pete reported he became a great-grandfather to an 8¼ lb. girl along in April. And a letter from Carl Gish said he was hoping to make the Hanover Reunion in June.

Because he expects to spend most of his time from now on in Florida, Howie Fuller has reluctantly resigned from his post as executive director of the Red Cross in Buffalo, N. Y., where he has served as chairman of the Recruitment Service since 1962. A very commendatory letter from the Executive Director of the National Red Cross expressed their regret but hoped Howie would keep in touch with the Buffalo chapter.

Hal Davison reports a return to normalcy after a four weeks' session at Hanover Hospital (for that prostate surgery that some of us have experienced) where he found Jack Bowler recuperating from the same. Hal reports an Easter dinner with KatherineChilds in her beautiful home at Bradford, Vt. He hopes to see us all at Hanover in June.

A further report from George Ingalls reveals visits to Laguna Hills, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco, plus seeing some fine examples of Aztec and Mayan civilization of thousands of years ago in Mexico.

The Dave Markhams have sold their home in Tahlequah and taken an apartment in nearby Muskogee, Okla. They plan to leave for Europe in September and hope to stop in Hanover on their way back in October. After 78 years in "The Cherokee Nation" they are now moving into the "Creek Nation"!

Eben Clough reports that his "incarceration" enabled him to catch up on all his reading, while his running mate, Kike Richardson, was out fishing at 24 degrees below zero, during which time Kike's wife, Pearl, took off to visit a sister in Florida. Eben got a flock of "get well" cards and was duly grateful. He, in turn, sent out cards to a lot of classmates, including some who are also "slowed down" - such as Tom Connelly at Rye Beach and Ned Shea at Brighton, Mass. Eben ended up his letter with this quote:

"The driver is safe when the roads are dry,

And the roads are safe when the driver is dry!"

George Martin went down to Florida along late February and got to see some good baseball down there. On his way home, he visited Gib Campbell and has been in touch with a number of '15ers including Cecil Whitney and Dick Wyman amongst others. George hopes to see us in June and the feeling is quite mutual.

With which, we'll button up this rather rambling dissertation and extend best wishes to all Classmates - wherever they may be.
