Harry Holmlund and Frances Sample were married September 19 in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Fran had long been a Green Valley, Ariz., neighbor of Harry and Lulu. Frances is a cousin of Paul Sample and a former Boston resident. Thus New England is not unknown to her. The new couple spent a few days in Hanover on their wedding journey, and attended the Bonnie Oaks 1924 gathering over the Penn game weekend.
Charlie French, another denizen of Green Valley, played a role in bringing about the Holmlund-Sample marriage, second only to that of Harry himself. Or so it would seem from Charlie's exuberant announcement of the event for the information of your editor. Incidentally, Charlie and Jeanette are off to Brazil for three months on an Executive Service Corps assignment in Porto Alegre. Charlie will be assisting in the setting up of a box manufacturing plant similar to the one he formerly operated in Cleveland. This is not the first such adventure for Charlie and Jeanette. Among others was a like assignment to Indonesia not long ago.
Les and Mildred Sycamore will again be in Haiti through the fall, winter and spring. Les has been attached to the Albert Schweitzer Hospital near Port au Prince as a radiologist for several winters, relieved by summers in Laconia, N. H. Much of the work of the hospital is charitable and for the benefit of a native population incredibly deficient in those advantages that make for tolerable human lives.
