The first pre-season Ivy League football scrimmage was held in New Haven between Dartmouth and Yale on September 23. It was a bust from an attendance point of view with only about 2,000 in the stands, but it was a real success in terms of seeing two good teams in action. Yale looked surprisingly strong and they should give us a good run for the money. The only classmate spotted in the stands was Huntly Allison who seemed to have enjoyed both the scrimmage and the beautiful afternoon in Yaie Bowl. Huntly has a son at Dartmouth which could be one reason for his early season interest in Dartmouth football.
