The birth of Sean Langdon Malloy on January 12, 1972 made President Walter Powers a great-grandfather. One of Sean's other great-grandfathers, Walter Huston Lillard, graduated from Dartmouth in 1905.

John W. Cromwell Jr. passed away on December 16, 1971. He leaves a daughter, Dr. Adelaide Hill, who is professor of Sociology at Boston University.

Suzanne Wood says she spends her day sewing. Her grandchildren are in college.

Virginia Tozier attended Alumni College for the second time last summer and enjoyed it very much.

It is with great sadness that I report the death of our classmate, Dr. Eliot Cogswell, on January 20 at his home in West Hartford, Conn. It was only in the January issue of this Magazine that we reported Eliot had finally retired after 58 years. Our hearts go out to Ruth and their two sons, Colby '39 and Bradford, a sister, and five grandchildren. A complete obituary will appear in this or a later issue.
