Some Tenners, even in their eighties, are able to continue tripping 'round the world. At our age we are inclined to get philosophical regarding the many years we have been fortunate. A picture card from SandySandberg gives expression to his point of view. He writes, "Greetings from Devil's Island of Dreyfus fame. Very few ships come here and its isolation-emptiness and jungle approaches make the name most appropriate. Four days of leisurely cruising on the calm wide seas give you much time for quiet reflection and an opportunity to count your blessings and realize how fortunate we are to be able to enjoy this way of life. Amazing how much one learns aboard a big ship and its several hundred cruisers. Over the years it seems nearly all have their share of life as it really is—its joys and sorrows—its tragedies and its good fortunes. After hearing much you go away with the feeling that we are all God's children—alike and alike."
Our Class chairman-secretary was recently reminded that he has been around for many extra years when he was honored by his fraternity, Sigma Chi, as a semi-century Sig. He was one of the charter members when the Troy Alumni chapter was organized during the Christmas vacation of senior year. His membership dates from 1907.
Reports of the passing of Tenners continue reaching us. Our two latest losses are Tom Steward in Litchfield, Minn., and Scott Perry in Buenos Aires. There are two of our good Tenners who represent a real loss.
Be sure to mark your calendar to remind you that our informal reunion of '72 in Hanover is scheduled for June 12, 13, and 14.
