1955-1956 was a very good year. It was the year in which Roy Campanella and Yogi Berra won most valuable player awards leading the Dodgers and Yankees into the world series won by Brooklyn in seven games. It was the year that Juan Peron was deposed by military revolt. It was the year the Cleveland Browns smothered the Los Angeles Rams and the AFL and CIO merged. It was the year that "The King and I" won the Academy Award.

Do you remember back to the fall of 1955 when we came to Hanover, many for the first time, to begin our Freshman year. It was the year of Freshman week, bonfire building, beanie wearing, mixers, tin trays and Janet Pilgrim in Thayer, chinos, Dean Morse and the tag of war which mercifully marked the end of it. Yes, it was a very good year indeed.

Would you believe it is eighteen years later, and Yogi has managed the Mets to a division championship and Peron is back in power and the Indian is no more. A lot has happened to each of us during this span - military service, marriage, children, gain of weight, loss of hair, success, happiness, all of which leads up to a plug for '59s 15th June 14-17. Mark the date and plan to be there.

The news is skimpy this month so I am holding it in reserve for a future column.
