Random phone calls this month netted the following information: Andy Mehalick works for IBM in Ithaca and, not surprisingly, Cornell is his largest customer; Dick Frankenberg is moving July 1 from the University of Georgia in Athens to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, to become director of Marine Sciences, and has not been on skates since graduation; Bill Gray lives on Long Island and works for a printing company; Al Werthemier runs a communications company in Syracuse; Harvey Galper is with the Urban Institute, a non-profit research organization in Washington, D.C. specializing in methods of financing state and local governments; Terry Davies is also in Washington working for the Council on Environmental Quality, and is writing a book under the auspices of the Ford Foundation; and Ariel Halpern is a vice president with Wood, Struthers and Winthrop Inc., a major New York City brokerage firm.
With this column, my last deadline has been met, and I must admit to mixed emotions now that the final edition has gone to press. On the one hand, it is a relief that the first of the month won't mean a column is due along with the bills, but on the other, I will sincerely miss the rewards of involvement with Dartmouth that this office permits. I also want to express appreciation to all of you, wives included, who helped me fill this space by communicating, who one way or another; for without your assistance, this column wouldn't have been.
Hope to see you at Reunion, and don't forget the Alumni Fund.
