Our annual football weekend reunion October 12-14 at the Norwich Inn was a great success, record attendance of 70. At the dinner alter the game several asked when this organized fall reunion started. We looked it up and found this was the 16th consecutive affair, with Sensenig serving as reunion chairman since the start.

We had beautiful weather, our usual special bus to the game and back, a cocktail party at the Norwich Inn right after the game which attracted several who had to leave before dinner.

Attending were Ralph and Sally Church of Des Moines; Dick and Melba Walker of Omaha and Melba's son, Dr. Adams, and wife of the Portland, Me., Medical Center; Gene and Helen Andres of Los Gatos, Calif.; George and Paula Bell of Washington, D.C.; George and Eleanor Klein of Pittsburgh, the Skinners of Troy, Pa.; and Bill and Cyrene Williams of Philadelphia.

From nearer states were: Jack and Fran Kenerson; Craig and Eleanor Haines; John and Peggy Phillips and their traditional guests, Foster Sanford (a Penn trustee) and his wife; Bill and Bobby Morton; Marty Fitzpatrick; Barney and Ellen Norton; Carter and Eleda Woods; Wes Wood; Cal and Genie Billings; Herb and Mimi Sensenig; Wes and Louise Patience and his brother-in-law and wife, Maurie and Anne Makepeace; Skip and Berl Drayton; Ken and Cynthia Cuddeback and son Ken '74 and his wife; Herb and Dot Russell; John and Ethel Nixon; Walt and Ethel Simpson; Bill and Bea Marx; Clark and Marion Blyth; Les and Dolores Mason; Rog and Alma Sundeen; Red and Fonty Sanborn; Phil and Bonneau McLaughlin; Wes and Barbara McSorley; and Budd and Mibs Maring. Undoubtedly there were other '28ers at the game.

Beryl Drayton was just back from Aruba visiting their daughter, who is married to a Dutch physician there, and granddaughter, already enrolled in the Dartmouth Class of 1987.

George Emery reported that after our 45th Reunion, Wat Dickerman spent a few days in Hanover and was invited to play with the orchestra which the 25th reuning class had hired ("Your Father's Mustache") and ended up playing all one night.

Les Mason's son Bryan is a student at Drew University . . . Parker Chick is president of the Cape Cod Dartmouth Club . . . Mary and I are excited about our first grandchild, lan McDowell . . . Bill Ballard is chairman and Herb Sensenig is also a member of the Town of Norwich Planning Commission and Zoning Board, which is busy rewriting the Town Plan.

Myles Lane has a heavy schedule as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of New York - he hears arguments, reads briefs and decides 40 to 45 cases a week. He was elected a member-at-large of the Dartmouth Alumni Council. His wife Maggie's third book on needlepoint is just out.

While in Waterbury, Conn., this fall CalBillings dropped in to see Steele Smith at the Smith Lumber Co. and found him looking the same as ever, tall, straight, and in good condition thanks to the horseback riding to which he is addicted.

Wayne Van Orman, an attorney in New York City since his graduation from Columbia Law School, has retired to Longwood Towers, 20 Chapel St., Brookline, Mass. Wayne holds the distinction of being the only Dartmouth man to be awarded the Columbia university Alumni Medal for "conspicuous alumni service." We had hoped he might retire to our beautiful county from which his father came, but our "Endless Mountains" area couldn't compete with Brookline where his daughter's family lives.

Cal and Genie Billings' son Sam '70 and Miss Barbara Lawton of West Hartford, Conn., were married June 23 at the Unitarian Church, Hartford. The bride is a Colby graduate and Sam has completed his studies in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Massachusetts.

Rick Rickenbaugh says it was "a pretty good birthday in that I returned home that day after three weeks in the hospital for some elective surgery similar to putting a blowout patch on an old inner tube. The boys must have done a pretty good job because within a week I was able to make a three day trip to Chicago to National Safety Council Board meetings before going to a week of Cadillac meetings in Phoenix. Fortunately I have a good Dartmouth son (Kent '59) as general manager to keep store during my absence."

The Class has lost one of its best - Bill Heep died at the Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville, N.Y., October 21. Our deep sympathy goes to Gertrude and their children.
