The "other pockets" have turned up some names of those attending the informal reunion in October who were not listed in last month's column. They include Janet and Bob Krumm,Hazel and Dick Bugbee, and Pauline and BobField.
The following is a report on the Executive Committee meeting of Saturday morning and includes Paul Young's report that the class bank account is up from a year ago, that "new" contributors (those who did not contribute in the previous year) in the last Alumni Fund drive exceeded by two those who had contributed last year but not this; and the discussion of a "Class Resources Committee" to be appointed by President Frank Hartmann to consist of all previous '43 class presidents, plus additional members who have particularly good ex- perience. As to the question of a class project, it was agreed that the Class of '43 would associate with the undergraduate student forum to provide alumni from our class to participate in its talk series. The featured objective is to bring back to the College those alumni whose careers would be of interest to a Dartmouth audience. It was not intended that prominence on a national scale would be a sine qua non, but rather alumni who are of relative prominence in their own fields while retaining anonymity with the general public. Herb Marx' Clanging Bells should carry a more detailed report of the project.
More recent news involves the Harvard weekend which, from a football standpoint, was far more rewarding to the Indians from the North Country than to John Harvard. Your secretary and wife Susie were privileged to attend the game by dint of attending a Harvard Law School reunion in the company of Dottieand Ed Lider and Joan and Judd Waldron. Insofar as the game was concerned, the Boston contingent turned out in force and included Betty and Jim Crawford (Jim wants to bring the Indian back), Barbara and Bob Mustard (Bob wants to get seats on the 50-yard line before he retires and/or dies - this particular Saturday we had an excellent view of the goal line). The Mustards have a daughter in the class of'76 and a son who graduated with the class of '71. Bob is in the insurance business in the Boston area.
Lorraine and Eddie O'Brien were at the game with Claire and Andy Caffrey, as were JohnnyKoslowski, Doctor Warren Taylor, Stan Bolster, and Ken Sorlien.
Tom Gerber - who still publishes newspapers - was down from New Hampshire for the game, along with his wife who appeared to be rooting for Harvard. This created no problem since the Dartmouths stayed ahead of the Harvards all day. And finally, Mike andConnie Thurston were seen along with Betty andBud Miskell. Thus ends the report on the Harvard game and your secretary would greatly appreciate similar information from those subse- quently attending the Yale, Cornell, and Princeton games.
General news from the Class being nonexistent, we'll see you next month.
