Things appear to be going from bad to worse, and I now even fear for the Granite State: a couple of months ago I was up on the Hill with a farmer friend from New Hampshire who, among other things, produces high quality maple syrup. Ran into a New Hampshire Senator who expressed surprise that maple syrup was a big industry in New Hampshire; claimed Senator from Vermont told him all the maple syrup came from Canada.
Signs of the times: saw a parade of several hundred students pass by yesterday on their way to the White House to demonstrate in favor of living up to our commitments - whatever they may be - in Vietnam. Demonstration didn't even make the local paper.
booking forward to reading Edwin New-man's book on improper usage of the English language. As Professor Higgins in My FairLady noted, the English language hasn't been spoken in America for years.
Peggy Winters writes that her first grandchild (Christina) arrived on January 14. Her mother (Marie Louise) was born in Mary Hitchcock in 1945. Peggy says if Dan were still living, he still wouldn't have a boy in the family! Youngest daughter Ellen is going to Kent School in Connecticut in the fall.
Herb Marx has resigned as vice president, Industrial Relations, of General Cable Corporation and has opened his own office for the practice of labor-management arbitration and dispute resolution at 20 Waterside Plaza, New York, N.Y. I presume we'll be seeing more of Herb in Washington.

Tim Page '66 passes on some news of DickMorner who is President of Electronic Coils, Inc. of Springfield, Mass. During Dick's three-year involvement with the company, sales have more than tripled. Dick has received a product excellence award from a major defense supplier, as well as nomination to National Small Business Administration honors.
Connie Young continues with honors by his election to the board of directors of United of Omaha, the life insurance affiliate of Mutual of Omaha.
A recent career exploration conference held at Dartmouth in February had as a panelist our own President Frank Hartmann, vice president of the Beaunit Corporation, who represented manufacturing and merchandising.
