The news of the passing of Ralph Cocks on December 30, came not only from his associates in the teaching profession in Hartford, but also through our classmate Karl Stillman, whose cousin living in that city reported his death. Apparently Ralph had undergone several operations, but had recovered until he was stricken in August of last year. The Class is saddened by the loss of another classmate.

At 77, Carl Colby tells us that he is hale and hearty. He keeps in close contact with his daughter who resides in London, Ont. After visiting there in September, he journeyed to Cherry Hill, N.J., for Thanksgiving with four of his grandsons and two of his twelve great-grands. Quite a family tree, Carl.

Harry Worthington of South Bend celebrated his anniversary with his six children, their wives and 34 grandchildren. Congratulations, Harry!

Our classmate Don Litchard reports that he has decided to make Florida his permanent residence. His new address is 101 North Grandview Street, Mount Dora, Fla. That is a good location and a friendly one. In addition to the water sports and the well-known lawn bowling program, Don and his wife will have the good luck to find as neighbors Bob and Gail Boynton. In writing about his plans he states that, although he sold all of his property in Cohasset, he will return to his old haunts at least for a few weeks during the summer months.

Added to our Who's Who or "Rouse" column, again comes the name of our popular class member and physician Dr. Raymond (Slats) Baxter of Marion, Mass. Friends of Slats have sent a news item from the Sippican Sentinel indicating that Tobey Hospital, of which he has been an active staff member since 1939, and chief of staff for 13 years, has named a new department of physical therapy after him. Qutoing from the news item, "At Tobey Hospital the newest patient care department, a fully equipped and professionally staffed service for Physical Therapy will be formally dedicated on Friday, December 15, 1972. This new department has been given by members of the Converse family of Marion in memory of Parker Converse and named in honor of one of Tobey's best-known physicians, Dr. Raymond H Baxter."

Those of you who may be vacationing or living in Florida, please note that our popular Sentry editor, Sherm Smith plans to be in Winter Park after January 25. We sincerely hope that the trip south will be beneficial to his health. While Sherm has not complained, he has had a slow time of it recovering from surgery. We expect to hear news of Hank and Polly Loudon from the Smith family while they are in that area.

A brief note comes from Ray Allen of West Hartford. Conn. Somehow, he always escapes us hen he visits the Lake Fairlee region in the summer He apparently keeps very much on the move and reports to the Sentry that he had a fine holiday season, especially enjoying a visit with his end family in Maryland.

We have just learned of the death of Willis D. Thompson Jr. of Concord, N.H. His sudden passing, on January 20, followed just two days after that of his wife, who had suffered a long illness.
