The old reliables made their perennial trek to Hanover for a two-day sojourn on October 5 and 6. Headquarters were at the Hanover Inn where the Executive Committee held its business meeting Friday afternoon. Two new members were added, due to the sad loss of Al Edgerton and Sherm Smith. Those chosen were Phil Evans and Dick Holbrook. We are fortunate in obtaining such loyal supporters of the Class and the College. With the changes in the college roster under coeducation, it seemed appropriate to name a member of the distaff side to the position of associate editor of The Sentry. We are pleased to announce that Helen Brooks has accepted this helpful assignment.

Vic Smith reported a sound financial condition in spite of an increased cost for books which are given by the Class to Baker Library in memory of each deceased classmate. While Roger Stone was unable to be present, his report indicated substantial progress in bequests made to the College by '17ers. One gift in particular was noted and acknowledgement will be made through the proper office of the College.

Chairman Bob Boynton made excellent plans for social activities. The food and entertainment were so good that a group of' 18ers joined us for dinner in the Drake room Saturday evening. Saturday was a good day, weatherwise, the hills providing a background of color at Memorial Field. While the results of the Holy Cross game did not bring joy, it is apparent at this writing that the weaknesses of the team have been substantially corrected.

The group returning for this gathering includes George Allison, Slats and Helen Baxter, Bob and Gail Boynton, Helen Brooks, George and Florence Clark, Edgar Earle, Phil Evans, Dick and Altha Holbrook, Duke and Dot Howe, Sandy and Tommy Lynch, Mary McCulloch, Len and Laurene Reade, Vic and Irene Smith and their daughter Virginia Bradley, Bob and Anita Scott, Barney and Adele Thielscher, Lucile Towler and Karl and Elizabeth Stillman, who are enjoying a month's vacation at the Inn.

From York, Me., Phil Woodwell writes that he still maintains an interest in the sea. His profession as an educator was preceded by good service for the Navy in 1917-18. He has just sold his sailboat which I inspected about five years ago. To quote, "Until this year, I sailed it regularly between York and Friendship. But time catches up with all of us and the work of handling it became too much." Here's hoping that we'll see you in Hanover, Phil, using a smaller skiff on the Connecticut.

Heinie Wacker recently celebrated his birthday by taking a trip up Mt. Equinox, one of southern Vermont's sightly peaks, and a mecca for mountain-climbing tourists. In keeping with the spirit of the locality, Heinie writes, "I keep in shape by digging, chopping and taking boulders out of my orchard." that is, at his residence in Durham, N.H.

Brrrr — the winter winds are here and it's time to wish you all a Merry Christmas.
