It is now all right to report that our vigorous Gene Towler has moved to Sun City Center, Fla. Did Jim Cone have something to do with it? We will miss Gene and Lucile in New England. It will give us all an additional excuse to take those winter trips to the Sunshine State. Good luck, old dears.

On February 4, your secretary joined members of the Dartmouth Club of Fort Lauderdale for lunch. Classes represented ranged from 1913 to 1942. '17ers will remember Cliff Daniels, Tom Jones, Reed Montgomery, all '18, as well as Medford Streeter '16. President Monty Mountcastle '22, presided ably. He reported on some of the changes in policy which are being contemplated. Those on coeducation were received with no enthusiasm.

Bob Scott and I corralled CarlyleSweet at his pleasant home in Fort Lauderdale. Carl is almost a native. He came to Florida in the thirties when the Flaglers were developing the city, and decided to live there. His experience as a utility expert provided the background for a profitable connection with the Florida Gas Co. There followed a dinner with the Scotts at their winter home. You would know that Bob, with his avid interest in golf, would be right on the course of the Coral Ridge Country Club, and enjoying it thoroughly.

Close by, Rocky Hayes '19 and Alice Earle showed us their lovely new apartment ment at Sea Gate Towers, Delray Beach. It is just great. We are going to miss them around Boston, but will hope that the fall football will lure them to Hanover frequently.

When I hit Sarasota, it means looking up ex-secretary, George Macomber '2O and Hazel. With him, we met graduates of all ages from many colleges at an Ivy League luncheon. You will remember Emery Lapierre '16, who was vacationing on Longboat Key. There were no classmates present, but it was fun to chat with old friends, Charlie Stevens '20, and Walter Henshaw '21. Another day, we made a quick trip to St. Petersburg to take in a meeting of the Dartmouth Club there About twenty were present, with the O'Connell brothers in command. Just for kicks, Joe Cheney '13 drove over from Orlando.

In Sarasota, Gil Swett is having good care in a new nursing home. Jane, as usual, is doing her best under difficult circumstances. Charlotte Emerson looks fine. I noted with pleasure that she has thrown away her canes. An interesting oil portrait of Sumner now hangs in his study on Jungle Plum Road. It is a good one, copied from a snapshot, catching him with a smile due to the celebration of a wedding anniversary rather than the successful closing of a deal for Morgan Stanley.

Harry Fowler has written our president stating that he is planning to make reunion. We are pleased to note that Helen's health is improving.

In conclusion, we must report the sad news of the loss of two classmates, RalphBritton and Fred Goodwin. Fuller accounts will be given as soon as they are available to your secretary.
