First of all, a correction to the January column. Monk Williams is special cross-country coach for the U.S. Ski Team and has been appointed coach for the '76 Olympic Womens Cross-Country Team. Monk, who is currently in Hanover, has a leave of absence from teaching at Deerfield, and you can catch him in Austria, in '76.
Also in New Hampshire, John O'Shea has returned to his native Laconia to practice law. For a good chuckle, note how hair styles have changed by looking up John in your '68 Green Book (if you can find it). While you're at it, look at everybody!
Word comes from the West, that Capt. Ned Cummings, an Air Force Intelligence Officer at Clark AFB, Philippines, has earned a second award of the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service at Castle AFB, California. Ned, many of your former shipriding classmates remain indebted to the young ladies of Clark AFB, who ventured towards the sea, and made our trips to Subic Bay worthwhile.
A review of past issues warrants a word of congratulations to Ben Bennani, and DonMiller, on their literary efforts listed in the "Dartmouth Authors" column. Ben produced, Paintbrush-A Journal of Poetry, Translationsand Letters, and Don, Bodymind: The WholePerson Health Book. The latter went to its second printing, and Don is working on his next book, The Life Force. If you need any restoration or remodeling done, don't miss GarrettRowe in the Alumni Register.
The Dartmouth Hockey team was in town on January 15, and gave a very classy Harvard team a real run for its money (one goal margin). Our club appeared to be in good shape, very well coached and not ready to call it quits on any account, with its usual vocally enthusiastic following putting the Harvard fans to shame. We will look for a few more victories next year.
I just heard that John Pilling was recently married and will provide details in the April column.
