My tenure as your faithful scribe is rapidly coming to an end, and I would be most embarrassed if I didn't clean up any old news before the June column. For some inexplicable reason, I have found several articles that go back to last summer.

Robert B. Irvine has joined Commercial Credit Company as director of public relations. In this position. Bob is responsible for the direction and implementation of all public relations for C.C.C. and its 15 subsidiaries. He is attempting to upgrade the Baltimore company's relations with the business and financial press to establish a greater awareness of his company s activities in the areas of financing and insurance. Bob received an advanced degree at Wesleyan. He and Ann live in Elliccott City with their two children.

Prof. Jonathan Brown, of the department of art and archaeology at Princeton, has been appointed acting director of New York University's Institute of Fine Arts. Jon. an authority on Spanish baroque painting, became interested in Spanish art while spending his junior year in Spain. After graduation from Dartmouth with a major in Spanish literature Jon entered Princeton to pursue his studies further. He earned his Ph.D. in 1964, spent the next year as a Fulbright Fellow in Spain, and then joined the Princeton faculty as an instructor. In addition to advancing to a full professor, Jon has found time to teach at the NYU Institute of Fine Arts and do some publishing. He received the 1971 Arthur Kingley Porter Prize from the College Art Association of America for the best article by a scholar under 40 published in the ArtBulletin. He was also the editor of Sources andDocuments in the History of Art: Italy andSpain 1600-1750, published in 1970 by PrenticeHall, and he is currently at work on a book on Zurbarán to be published in the near future. Jon and Sandra live in Princeton with their daughter, and I guess Jon is commuting to Fun City since the Institute is located on the upper East side of Manhattan.

Max Eveleth Jr. has been elected president of Urban Data Processing, Inc., Arlington, Mass. The rapid acceptance of U.D.P.'s computerized proprietary census processing services and systems have firmly established the company as the largest and leading organization of its type in the U.S. Under Max's marketing direction, U.D.P.'s revenue and client roster have doubled, and he will continue to be responsible for marketing and sales while becoming more active in the overall management of the company. This reminds me, Max, that I owe you an answer on the proposal which you sent to me regarding Bevis. Max held positions with IBM, Sanders Associates, International Data Corp. and Edutronics Systems prior to Urban Data Processing. He is a member of the board of directors of International Data Corp., Computerworld and Xanthos Software. The Eveleths live in Melrose where Max is active as a corporator of the Melrose Savings Bank. Max is also assistant class agent and active in enrollment.

Haley Fromholz has become a member of the San Francisco law firm of Morrison, Foerster, Holloway, Clinton & Clark. Speaking of that fair city, a college conference will be held there from May 17-19. All alumni are invited and may receive further information by contacting Mr. Derek Knudsen, Suite 2424, One California Street, San Francisco, California 94111.

Remember the Alumni-Fund and our goal to really set new records before reunion,. And start saving gas so we can all get to Hanover in June.
