By the time you read these notes it will be the middle of May, presumably good weather, allowing us to forget the mud and slush of March and April but to recall our visit to Florida and the pleasant reunions with classmates and friends who were in the sunshine state. As you know, Bob and Anita Scott spend the winter in Ft. Lauderdale and we had a happy evening with this loyal Dartmouth couple. Bob keeps in good shape by playing regularly at the beautiful Coral Ridge Country Club. They plan to leave for their Connecticut home in May and hopefully our new president will be with us for Class Officers' meetings in Hanover about that time. "Monty" Montcastle, former assistant manager at the Hanover Inn, still continues the operation of the Silver Swan at Ft. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. He is president of the local Dartmouth Club which meets monthly at Heilman's Restaurant and I regret that my schedule did not include a meeting with that group.

In Sarasota, I was more fortunate. WaltHenshaw '21 invited me to attend a luncheon of the Ivy League college group. About every type of college is represented at these gatherings and the entertainment is unusual in that not only educators are asked to speak but also economists and brokers. It was one of the latter, on this occasion, who told us all what to do and what not to do with our money. Stearns McNutt '38 an industrialist in textiles, shared a table with us.

Pauline Hutchins is enjoying her new residence in Whispering Sands on Siesta Key, Sarasota. She entertained us graciously at the new Key Club which not only provided good food, but diversion in the form of a tennis tournament being wound up under lights.

Jane Swett maintains her residence at Old Oak Drive. She is very busy with her work as secretary to the head of the Unitarian Church in Sarasota.

The Dartmouth Club of Sarasota has prospered under the direction of Don Solis '28. At the meeting which I attended, 20 Dartmouth men were present, ranging from the classes of 1917 to 1935. Charlie Stevens '20 was there as well as Ted Neilson '25 a friend of our DickHolbrook. Incidentally, it happened that Dick and Altha were spending the winter in a hotel near us at Clearwater Beach. We had an interesting evening with them and planned to be together at our Post-50th gathering in Hanover in June.

We were shocked to learn belatedly of the passing of Isabel Hulin, devoted sister of our Bill Eaton. We stopped at the Highland Pines Nursing Home in Clearwater and had a short visit with Bill, who, we are sorry to report, has failed considerably during the last year. While there, we saw a scroll which had been presented to him in 1954 by the University Club of Pittsburgh in recognition of his leadership in the community. Among the many signatures on this token of respect were those of Fred Hager and Sandy Lynch.

We regret to report the passing of additional members of our class. They are as follows: Lawrence Doty, John Baer, Raymond Allen, and Leon Randall.

I hope these notes reach you in time to encourage you to send information about yourselves and also to suggest again that you consider a visit to Hanover for the Post-50th.
