The turn of the year is with us all at this writing, a heavy snowfall is in progress, skiing is excellent, and the weather cold, as usual. We wish all '17ers a healthy New Year.
Only one of our Class will not hit the "octo" mark this year: George Clark, a popular member of our executive committee. George doesn't know how to retire. He tried it last summer, but found that his many friends and customers were still calling on him for insurance advice. Just why he modestly maintained an insurance business for years in Lisbon, N.H., under the name of "Merrill Agency" is unknown to the writer, but maybe to keep from being confused with another George Clark who had an automobile business in his home town. Anyway, we shall call on George more frequently to assist us in the work of the Class through its executive committee.
Ralph Sanborn's ideas re Post-50 class reunions are timely. Next year we will be planning our 60th Reunion. Why not get a goodly group of'17ers to meet in Hanover next June 14 as a prelude to our own Special? Time is running out, for when our number, by attrition, is reduced to 50, the ball game for regular reunion recognition by the College, is over. By this time, you will have received an invitation from Dave Orr, Ass't Secretary of the College, to attend that Post-50 reunion. Do note the dates, the low cost, the entertainment provided, and, most important, an opportunity to meet your own classmates as well as many contemporaries from other classes. Let Bob Scott or your secretary know that you are definitely interested.
Not much news lately. We thought of ArchEarle when we were entertained by Guy Lombardo and his two-piano players - (shades of College Hall). Incidentally Phil Evans would like a list of the numbers played at our fall reunion. Recently, Jo sent us a card saying that Phil is recovering well from eye surgery. How about sending him a word of good cheer?
That's all for now.
