Two months ago I passed along information from a brief note which I had from Ed Drechsel and Frank Kappler quoted from a longer letter from Ed in a recent Tithe. Now I want to congratulate Ed who, as reported last month, has been given the Dartmouth Alumni Award by the Alumni Council for his outstanding service to the College and community. Congratulations, Ed, on behalf of the Class!
A welcome letter from Alan Greenbaum '62 from Tempe, Ariz., tells of a party of more than a hundred relatives and friends held in Stam-ford, Conn., last June to help Monroe Green-baum celebrate his 60th birthday. The affair was held at son Tom's home and all the family including three grandchildren were there. Monnie and Adele live in New York where he is president of Encore Sales Corp,. At last report, he was "feeling good, working hard, and playing golf (poorly)."
More news of class "retirees" with CliffEngland ending a long association in the actuarial and research end of the insurance business. He retired from the Commercial Union Ins. Co. of Boston at the end of February but will be doing some occasional consulting for them for a short time. No mention of any immediate plans to travel or move from the Boston area.
Another who has left the ranks of active participation in the insurance field is F. E. (Whit)Whitlock who retired in March as secretary-personnel for the Home Insurance Co. in New York. Whit grew up in Westfield, N.J., where he lives today. He started in the business after leaving college, met his wife Evelyn when he was transferred from New York to Chicago where she worked in the same company. After they were married they were transferred to St. Louis. He began Army service in 1943 but had a bout with pneumonia. After discharge returned to St. Louis and subsequently was transferred back to the main office in New York in 1949 where he has been ever since. He is still very much involved with the community of Tranquility Falls, Pa., where they have a vacation home and he reports great improvement there with a dam, lake, better water supply, etc. He also will continue his close involvement with Camp Brett Endeavor, Lebanon, N.J., where he is on the board of trustees. It is a camp for 400 deserving children referred by churches, service clubs, and other groups and supported entirely by contributions. Whit and Evelyn hope to continue traveling, camping, and visits to their three married daughters and six grandchildren who are scattered from Cherry Hill, N.J., to Bellevue, Wash., and Orlando, Fla.

Other names will be added as time goes on Ray Builter announced that Bob Keeler of Cin-cinnati will be Chairman of Reunion Giving, the special program that each reunion class establishes, in cooperation with Class Agent Frank Curtis. Incidentally, if any of you have suggestions for the new Class Officers to be elected in June, 1976, pass them along so that they can be given to the nominating committee for consideration.
