The office of information of Hopkins Center has recently announced that a new permanent showcase for the college silver collection has been installed in the main lobby of Hopkins Center, which was made possible by a gift from Frank Harrington. This showcase will display historic pieces of silver which have been given to the College and which represent the work of Boston craftsmen of the late 17th and 18th centuries. Included in the current exhibit is the "Montieth" silver bowl which was presented to the College by Governor Wentworth at the time of the first commencement in 1771. Future exhibitions will include many other items, including the Daniel Webster tea set, recently given to the College by Judge Bailey Aldrich of Boston. The new case is on the west side of the O. J. Buck Lobby.

A recent article in the New York Times comments on a book by Norman Maclean entitled ARiver Runs Through It. (Excerpts from whichare scheduled for the June issue. Ed.) Norm was William Rainey Harper Professor of English at the University of Chicago prior to his retirement in 1973.

We regret to record the death of John Coyle on March 16 and of Dick Dickinson on March 21.

A note from Jimmie Reid tells of his plans to reune with Red Newell in San Francisco, also that he has made contacts with several other classmates in the Far West, but has been unable to meet with them for various reasons. Specifically he mentions Hal Cowley, TomFlint, and Ned Mansure. And much to our surprise, Jimmie admits to having had snow in Carefree, Ariz., which proves that New England has no monopoly on weather.

Dick Morin reports from Tuscon that he has seen Ed Streater and Harry Holmlund (probably soon to return to Cape Cod). And through the courtesy of Don Norsttand, Secretary of the Class of '26, we hear that Red Hall is still active and recovered from a bout with angina.

Your secretary can pass on a few first-hand notes from the west coast of Florida. The BeldenSlys are most happy in their home in Venice, where Belden plays golf with regularity. The Ted Nilsens have recently enjoyed a Caribbean cruise in company with the Truman Metzells and Chet Bixbys, both '23. The Bents while in the area missed contact with the FrankHarringtons and Bob Hayes. We also highly recommend the meetings of the Ivy League Club and the Dartmouth Club of Sarasota, the latter featuring Mike McGean '49 as speaker with news direct from Hanover.

Joe Butler reports the birth of a grandson, Joseph G. Butler V, on March 6, a ninth grandchild. Congratulations, Joe, on a further extension of the name of Joe Butler.

A meeting of the executive committee of the Class will be held in Hanover on Class Officers Weekend (May 1). A report of proceedings will follow in our next issue.

And now, the reminder again that it is time to plan for the fall weekend: a chance to see Hanover at its fall best, witness the Harvard game and enjoy a reunion with classmates. A note to Bonnie Oaks will insure accom- modations there - but the sooner you write that note the better.
