In case you didn't notice, there was no class news last month. I have been debating since then how to explain this oversight, but the plain fact is that I just didn't have anything to report and didn't have a chance to get on the phone to get some news. My apologies to the Class. Now, back to work.

First, a couple of hard news items. Herb Nubel, a resident of Summit, New Jersey, and vice president, advertising and marketing services, with Sterling Drug Inc., is abandoning these shores in the year of our Bicentennial and is heading for Brazil. The circumstances are honorable and, in fact, Herb has accepted a fine new position in Rio with The Sidney Ross Com- pany, a branch of Sterling. The official date of the move is not until July, but, after that date, you can reach Herb at his company, Caixa Postal 1363-ZC-00, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

According to my records, we now have 20 classmates living outside North America. Amazingly, four of them live in Colombia. They are Bob Ash, Peter Jennings, Gustavo Pradilla, and Lee Prior. Only one other country has four residents, England. They are Dick McDonough,John Ballard, Bill Price, and Charlie Roberts.

We are pleased, once again, to report a promotion and new responsibility for DickDalbeck. Dick has recently been elected president of Unionmutual Management Corporation, Portland, Me. His company is a subsidiary of Unionmutual Corporation which also owns Union Mutual Life Insurance Co., Maine's largest financial institution. Dick's company specializes in the management of individual and corporate investment portfolios. Prior to this new assignment, Dick was a senior vice president of the life insurance company. Most of his assignments at the company were in the corporate planning and markets departments of the business.

Another member of the Class involved in corporate planning and development is Fred Forni, vice president of U.S. Industries Inc. Fred assumed his new position with USI just the first of this year. He has been with the company for about six years and prior to that he was with American Electric Power and in private law practice. Fred's offices are in Manhattan, but he and the family live in Chappaqua, N.Y. Fred and his wife Louise have four children. The oldest is Nancy, 17, followed by Barbara, 15, Fred, 10 and Thomas 6. All are enrolled in local Chappaqua schools.

Since this is the start of the fishing season I decided to give a call to George Pandaleon, another Westchester County resident. George is vice president, sales of Martin Reel Company of Mohawk, N.Y. George, however, keeps his office in Mt. Kisco where he, his wife Mary, and their children reside. The oldest of their children, George, is a sophomore at Kenyon College in Ohio while their youngest, Tom, is in the seventh grade in the local school system. Mary, by the way, does have to commute since she is director of continuing education at Queensborough Community College on Long Island.

The president of Martin Reel Company, of course, is our own Maury Lyon and, through George, we can report all is well with the Lyon clan. The Lyons, Maury, Katie, and their daughter Caroline do live in Mohawk. Business at Martin Reel is doing just fine.

This is also the time of year when the sailors are completing their spring commissioning, so it seemed appropriate to give a call to Dick Nye to see what is doing with his family. The Nyes, father and son, as many of you know, are two of the most accomplished and respected yachtsmen in the country. Their yacht Carina is traditionally in the thick of all the important races and consistently places well. Dick is a partner of Georgeson Company, one of the leading proxy solicitation firms in the brokerage industry in New York. The Nyes, Dick and Patricia, and their five children live in Greenwich, Conn. Their oldest, Johnathon, is a sophomore at Allegheny College while the others, Melinda, Robert, Leigh, and William all are in school at home. Except William, actually. He's only twenty-one months old; not quite the youngest offspring of the Class, but very close.

One of the large New York banks recently decided to change its name so we thought we'd give a call to one of their officers to see what was going on. Sid Schneck, is a vice president with responsibilities in the estate and personal trust department of Citibank, formerly First National City Bank. Sid reports all is going well at the bank and on the home front. His wife Sally is involved in a number of charitable activities and educational support work in their home town of Chappaqua, N.Y. (That's two reports from that city this month. I don't plan very well.) In addition, she and Sid are kept busy by the activities of their three children, Susan (14), Karen (10), and Robbie (5). Sid's principal activity outside his main business is as a director of National Estate Planning Council, a 14,000-member organization. To a lesser extent he is also involved in a number of New York banking committees associated with his Citibank responsibilities.

That about does it for this month. If you have any news, drop us a line. The address is at the top of the column and we'd like to hear from you. So would your classmates and friends in other classes.
