The Alumni Fund drive is in full swing and our Class has tradition on its side and an outstanding chairman in Joel Portugal to organize us and help us maintain the high level of giving which is the trademark of our Class.

Herb Reiner writes that he is currently the managing editor of the Plating and SurfaceFinishing Journal of the American Electroplaters' Society but will soon be job hunting because the society plans to move out of New Jersey. Herb enjoys his work but doubts if he will follow the society in its out-of-state move. Herb and family live in Cedar Grove, N.J., where wife Kate teaches French and German at West Milford High School.

The Dartmouth Medical School recently an- nounced that Dr. Ted Harris received a $267,000 grant from the National Institute of Arthritis, Metabolism, and Digestive Diseases to continue his studies of rheumatoid arthritis. The grant will allow Dr. Harris and his associates to continue their work investigating how cells in rheumatoid arthritis destroy tissue. Ted is chief of the connective tissue disease section of the Department of Medicine at Dartmouth.

The Class extends its deepest sympathy to Don Brenner whose wife recently passed away from diabetes and double pneumonia. Don's nine-year-old son Michael is an avid Little Leaguer and Don and son ski together at Lake Placid and Canada. Don is president of Metro Oil & Chemical Corp. in Ridgefield, N.J., and was just elected president of the Gold Seal Fuel Associates of New Jersey. He is also director and a member of the executive committee of The Trust Company of New Jersey.

In insurance circles, Walt Shea was recently promoted to second vice president in the Administration and Customer Services Division of the Life, Health, and Financial Services Department of the Travelers Insurance Companies in Hartford, Conn. Walt joined the Travelers in 1960, was promoted to underwriter in 1963 and to chief underwriter in 1966. Two years later he was appointed assistant secretary and in 1972 was named director. Walt, his wife Jackie, and their four children live in Wethersfield, Conn.

Hugh Fox recently resigned as president of Equity Publishing Corp., publishers of law books, and is starting his own business, Fox Publishing Corporation in the same field. Hugh lives in Bradford, Vt., and we wish him best of luck in his new business.
