Sandra Manne, Jerry's proud wife, wrote that Jerry was recently elected a director of the Chicago Board of Trade for a three-year term. The Chicago Board of Trade is the largest commodity exchange in the world, and we wish Jerry well in his new position.

I received a call in March from Mort Fisher who was in Miami lecturing on environmental law. Mort lives outside of Baltimore, is a partner in the law firm of Frank, Bernstein, Conaway & Goldman, is married and the proud father of two children. Mort's specialty is real estate law, although of late his interests have been turning to the environmental aspects of that area. Mort's hobbies are tennis and hiking.

John Parker, president of Putnam Advisory Services, Inc., part of the Boston-based Putnam money management organization, has been appointed by Secretary of Labor Peter J. Brennan, to the new Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans.

The Council was established by the new pension reform law, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) to advise and make recommendations to the Secretary of Labor concerning his functions under the Act.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor announcement, the 15 Council members representing various pension-related interests were selected from about 150 nominees qualified to appraise the programs instituted under ERISA. John's term on the Council extends through November 15, 1976.

The Council will meet at least four times a year and, also, at the Secretary's request. John resides in Manchester and has been associated with the Putnam organization since 1968. Formerly executive vice president of The Putnam Advisory Company, he assumed his present responsibilities as president of Putnam Advisory Services, Inc. in May, 1974.
