Your secretary, seated at his desk waiting for world-shattering class news which never arrives, is giving some thought to the coming football season. He is thoroughly aware that at his age he might better be considering more important matters, but he can't help wondering how the team will make out against Harvard and what freshman marvels will regretably turn into sophomore busts.

He has friends who look somewhat askance at such childish interests as football and tend to sneer at those who retain youthful illusions. He scorns such heretics and will continue (though in a less wide-eyed fashion) to follow the fortunes of Dartmouth football teams through good or bad seasons. If this be idiotic, make the best of it.

Another breach in a tottering wall came with the news of the death of Frank E. McKone on June 23. Although he was with the Class only through freshman year, Frank is remembered kindly by his classmates, who extend their sympathy to his survivors.
