In my move to Florida, I forgot part of my class-notes file at home. Therefore, let me inject this belated birthmark lest I incur the wrath of Herb and Judi McCord. They proudly announced the birth of Jennifer Louise on March 13, 1977. Little brother loves his new sister so much, Judi is worried that "he may smother her with hugs and kisses." Sounds like Michael takes after his old man.

Bill Martin was named vice president at Bunge Corp. in New York. Bill heads the Gulf corn department and has been associated with the company since 1972. He has been in the grain business since 1964, when he began as a grain trader. (I think we're all corn traders at one time or another.) Bill's wife is the former Miss Kathleen Canavan of Hanover (Vassar '64) and they have two children, William and Laura.

Here's a Wah-Who-Where from BillHarrington. To quote Bill, he "bombed out in 1961. Limped through Washington College in Chestertown, Md., with a B.A. in economics in 1966 with another '64 reprobate, ChuckEngstrom. Brilliantly undistinguished career (don't feel like the lone ranger) as an independent general insurance agent. Still remember some fine friendships which I would like to renew." (Address: 202 Buena Vista Ave., Cambridge, Md. 21613.)

Anthony Orr was promoted from Dartmouth National Bank's trust investment office to vice president and trust officer. In his new position, Tony will be in charge of the bank's trust department of $67 million in assets.

Randy Stowell dropped me a nice note from Dixfield, Maine. (He works for the United Timber Corp in Dixfield), regarding the exploits of Bob LaResche in Alaska. Bob became commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources after serving previously as the director of the division of policy development and planning in the governor's office. Gov. Hammond had high praise for Bob and cited the great challenge confronting him regarding the determination of 20 per cent of Alaska's land (preserve it or develop it). In addition to his work as director of policy development, he also served as chief of habitat protection, Department of Fish and Game. He has also been a teaching assistant at both the University of Alaska and Johns Hopkins University, where he earned his doctorate in 1969. Was it Bob who said, "save a tree, eat a beaver?"

Now for concluding rhyme contributed by Treasurer Steve Blecher, poet excelsior: "From zoos to pews oh hear the news, the time has come to pay your dues." (We had 405 duespayers last year, as opposed to 380 the year before.) Lets do better: Don't make a huff, don't give me no gruff, it ain't so ruff to do your stuff; Be a buff, don't make a muff, ten clams for the green is not enough.
