With June 16-19 fast approaching, I hope you're all packing your bags for a reunion trip. Just prior to penning this, I had word from Joe Grasso that Dave Peck was coordinating a joint venture with singers of' 67, '68, and '69. expected to result in two performances on Friday evening, June 17: after dinner in Thompson Arena, and later with the Glee Club in Spaulding. All you former Glee Clubbers, Injunaires, and others with good singing voices and a desire to be heard are encouraged to attend a rehearsal at 2:00 p.m. the same day. place to be announced.
Speaking of performances, the February 17 edition of The New York Times carried a detailed review of Lumiere, a new play by Don Marcus, at the Ark Theater Company in Soho (New York City). Described as a "journey into the heart of the Impressionistic movement during its early revolutionary days," the play features Edouard and Eugene Manet, and the woman in the middle, Berthe Morisot. The setting is Paris in the 1870s. Hope some of you got to see it!
Bob Reich thanked me for past coverage and in the same breath reminded me of important news that missed my widely-cast net: "His name is Adam Dalton Reich and he's now two years old, tall for his age and a jock, which disproves most of genetic science!" Bob, your good humor and wit are always welcome.
A son was also born to the Dan Hedges family of Houston. Clinton Kuldell had quite a struggle born last September 28, more than three months early, at 1 pound, 14 ounces, he spent his first three months in a neonatal ICU. At last report he was fine and shopping for his "reunion run" shoes.
In the fall of 1980, Bill and Stefanie Ellis moved from Philly to Falmouth on Cape Cod, bringing their psychology careers with them. They have enjoyed living closer to nature and have become active in the peace and environmental movements. The two were planning to open a center for family therapy in Hyannis called the Salt Marsh Center while continuing to work in the local public mental health center.
Tai-Sam Choo has been in Midland, Mich., for some time and works in the legal department of Dow Chemical, handling matters related to air and water pollution laws. With all the recent E.P.A. goings-on, I'm sure he's been a busy man. Sam has been serving as an area enrollment/recruiting coordinator for high school students and reports he's getting some help from Dan Sorenson, also of Midland, who practices emergency medicine.
Another physician, Bill Blanchard, is director of pediatric training at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Pensacola while also building a practice in pediatric cardiology. Like Sam, he's involved in recruiting for the College, enjoys time with his wife and daughter when not jogging, and raises "champion" springer spaniels.
Cedric Kam left H.U.D. and has been beefing up his academic experience, studying finance and related courses at the University of Hartford. He finds rubbing elbows in the private sector much more to his liking ... "a much more rational environment than government. It sounds like Cedric will ultimately transfer his public sector experience to private sector real estate development.
