While most of us may be sneezing and cursing the snow during this exceptionally cold winter, Herb Hillman is glorifying in it. Herb is the owner of the Golden Eagle Motel and Apartments in Stowe, Vt., where he also is active in the insurance business. He must also be a clairvoyant because he has just completed an addition of ten new units at his resort motor inn in time for what has to be one of the greatest skiing winters in New England. You certainly do plan well, Herb. Besides running the motel and his real estate business, Herb is busy in community affairs in Stowe. He has been recently appointed to the advisory board of the Franklin-Lamoille Bank and is past president of Stowe Rotary Club, a former member of the Stowe Planning Commission, and first vice president of the Stowe Area Association. Apparently Herb has made a name and a place for himself in Stowe.

Everyone knows that an ability to foretell the future is certainly a desirable characteristic for a stockbroker. But how many brokers have a background in astrology to aid in that required forecasting? Well, our Pete Gunas has. Pete is a registered representative of Shearson Hammill & Company and also apparently an accomplished astrologer. He has had astrological training under Capel M'Cutcheon and Ruth Gerry and is putting the training to use in lecturing in astrology in his home state of Connecticut. In addition to his brokerage activities, Pete is also owner of a building and real estate business which goes under the name of — what else — Scorpio Builders, Inc. and Scorpio Real Estate, Inc. in Coventry, Conn. It looks like you're covering all the bases, Pete.

The Boston Bar Association has announced the election to its governing body, the Boston Bar Council, of Robert M. Buchanan. Bob is a partner in Sullivan & Worcester. According to a recent newspaper article, Bob has served as chairman and co-chairman of the New England Antitrust Conference, sponsored by the Boston Bar, and has lectured at that conference for the past six years. He has held various other positions with the Bar Association, including vice chairmanship of the Committee on Courts and membership on the newly created Committee on Federal Judgeships. Bob and his family live in Weston, where he is a member of the Weston Finance Committee and was chairman of the Weston Historical District Study Committee.

The National Life Insurance Company of Montpelier, Vt. has announced the election of Bob Collimore to its "Top 50" Club. This places Bob in the rolls of the top producers for his company. Bob's office is in Chicago and his home is in Barrington, Ill.

The recent issue of Tuck Today, the Tuck School alumni magazine, was loaded with '54s. Shining out of a page of pictures was the smiling face of Charlie Morrison, chairman of the Tuck annual giving campaign, and Bob and BarbaraLevine. Bob is the head class agent for the Tuck School Class of '55 annual giving.

But the biggest picture of all in the magazine was that of Pete Ankeny. Pete has been appointed to the Tuck board of overseers, the governing board of Tuck School. Pete's choice is certainly recognition he has earned. His has been a rapid rise in the world of banking. After an early business career with the Hamm Brewing Company, Pete joined the First National Bank of Minneapolis in 1967 as an assistant vice president and only this past year was elected president of this extremely large bank. Pete and Margie and their five children live in Wayzata, Minn. Their eldest son Donald is a member of the Dartmouth Class of 1978, continuing a family tradition, since Pete's father was a Dartmouth and Tuck graduate in 1921 and 1922. Congratulations on your election, Pete.

That does it for now. I hope when the thaw comes, hundreds of words of news will flow.
