The amount of correspondence this month has been minimal. I'm sure its due to the severe cold. Everyone's ink well must have been frozen, along with other things.
According to the Xerox machine, RufusSisson is getting married in June. The lucky lady is Judy Graham of Hanover. The Xeroxed article also states that Rufus is working, as of January, for American Can Co. in Lamoyue, Pa.
Bill Rice relays that he is "working for the city of Gary, Ind., in the department of development and planning as an associate planner." Bill hopes that by publication of this issue he will be engaged to a Wellesley woman.
Paul McCarthy recently indicated that he, too, is engaged. The unlucky lady in this case is from Taiwan and attends Simmons College. Paul is currently teaching himself Chinese and hopes to eventually work in that part of the world. Good luck, Paul.
Mike Cutler, back from vacationing in Florida, says there was much tuna in that region. Cuts has always been a big fisher.
Ken Cohen reports the following: "I am halfway [now almost all the way] through the first year of the M.B.A. program at Wharton. As Dave Ferguson writes me, 'I was surprised to get a letter from someone I knew at Wharton but in the last four years I have come to expect the unexpected!' " Fergie, as always, is quite deep. Ken continues, "Wharton is OK... fortunately, for my social life, other greeners here include Scott McCallister, Rich San Soucie, and Charles Neenan." Dan Ringred wrote K.C. saying " 'both working and rowing got to be a hassle, so I quit work.' " Its good to see that after four years of college Ringer can make those tough decisions without reservation. Good going, Ringer.
Ken says he sees "quite a bit of BruceWilkins, who's a marketing trainee for Englehard Minerals and Chemicals." After a little partying one night, Ken's roommate at Wharton saw Bruce passed out on a couch, woke up K.C. and innocently but quite concernedly inquired, " 'ls your friend all right? I don't know if he is breathing.' " Deep rest.
By the way, Beth Howard, if you are with us today, Ken has your earrings you lost at the Yale game in October. K.C. wears them occasionally. Has anyone found Satch Orlando's PrepH? Satch has been scratching his head since last spring wondering where the cure is.
Hank Ostwald has been dating a girl named Elsie. No relation. Hank says he enjoys living in Acapulco, although he misses the chickens on his father's farm in Whittemore, lowa.
Todd "Fahonska" Morris was last spotted dragging around his anchor (he is an experienced sailor) in Chicago and is working for an electronics firm. Todd needs an anchor in that windy city.
Stan Dopanfofer, is studying "vertical theology [?] at U.C.L.A." He hopes that he can make it back to Hanover by late spring to play and look for a summer job. See you up there, Stan.
Joel Goldfield and Larry Ward organized "a little get-together for the Super Bowl game telecast." Vince Salvatore, Chris Bjelland (both going to Harvard law and business respectively), and Rick Jones '75 made it over to Larry's apartment in Brighton, Mass., "for beer, munchies, talk and TV extravaganza."
Joel reports that "Connie Vosler says she's getting along all right in the G.E. management training program. Brita Sardella is working her tail off on pre-med courses at Dartmouth. She decided during her last term that she wanted to be a gynecologist!" Thanks for writing, Joel. Joel, by the way, is "applying for substitute teaching jobs in the Brandeis University (Waltham, Mass.) area, and investigating possibilities for summer employment."
Joe Dempsey was seen recently in Beantown, where he works as a paper boy. The kid next door hurt himself so Joe got the neighborhood job. Joe says its too cold to ride his bike, so he has to hoof it.
Linda Winship (some more Xeroxed material) has been hired as a youth counselor for the Family and Youth Counseling Service of Quinebang Valley Health and Welfare Council. Got all that? Thats the Worcester, Mass., area. The clipping came from the Worcester Gazette.
Wendy Simila spent some time in St. Louis where she was spotted (by "The Eye") with JohnHaffenreffer. Wendy says she also saw DaveClark, who enjoys his job at a local car wash.
Rumor has it that Gordie Miles, who previously was a substitute teacher, then a minister's assistant, then a teacher again, has switched again. He now wants to be the first male-female hockey trainer in Western Canada. I suppose if Phylis George can make comments about pro football, Gordie can tape female hockey players' ankles. Go to it, Gordie.
Pam Kneisal is a teacher corps intern with the Charles County, Md., public school system.
It was good to receive a letter from FrankWilson who is in Atlanta. Frank spent "four or five days with Scott Specht early in December." Dave Allman works in Atlanta overseeing the operation of the Athletic Center of Atlanta - a downtown physical fitness facility. Frank reports that David "Moe" Lindberg and his Dartmouth bride Peggy moved to Atlanta in August. Moe will be going to Georgia State Univ., starting in the spring, to pick up his master's in accounting and plans to become a CPA. Peggy now attends Emory Univ. in Atlanta. Frank is attending law school at the Univ. of Georgia along with Sandra Bernal, who says that she's had enough of the cold, snowy N.Y.C. winters.
Frank says he won't be able to make it to Hanover until he graduates. He feels that when he does graduate he would like to work at the Village Green and live over Tony's. Take care, Frank.
Mike Cutler and John Lord spent the holidays in Key West, Fla. Cuts said he couldn't wait to take in those warm breezes and the like. Big Buzz. Today, here in the Northeast, there has already been about ten inches of white stuff and its still coming. I'm sure they had a good time. Mike, incidently, plans to get a job someday. All right, Cuts.
I hope that there is more happenings coming in next month. If not I will be forced to use more of that Xeroxed... (I knew I'd be edited). Bonsoir. Don't leave it overnight.
