Two 1916 granddaughters are at Dartmouth this year — Mary Fairbanks '83, granddaughter of Ken and Mary Ross, and Katharine Sykes '82, granddaughter of Dick and KayParkhurst. Here is an odd coincidence — Mary spent her summer backpacking and mountain- climbing in Wyoming and Katharine spent part of her summer mountain-climbing in Utah.
Letters and phone calls received tell of travel last summer: Paul and Margaret Wadleigh came to New York for music at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Mrs. Reginald (JoAnne)Chutter spent two months in Spain and Holland, and Mrs. Emery I. (Ruth) Lapierre was in England.
Making their annual cross-country trip, DanDinsmoor and George Paine came east to spend the summer in their native New Hampshire.
The holder of our Larmon Dartmouth Class of 1916 Scholarship, Marcus Keep, will graduate with the class of 1980. His major is religion and at present he is in London studying that subject. Looking ahead, Marcus hopes to attend medical school.
