During some correspondence with Eddie Chamberlain about getting the grandson of "Red" Loudon '14 into Dartmouth in the Class of 1983, Eddie said he was very sorry to learn of Larry Bankart's death. Eddie said Larry was the Dartmouth alumnus who interviewed and recommended him when Larry was one of the Blood Company's top executives in Lynn, Mass., where Eddie was born and raised. What a tribute to Larry!
Hazen Jones telephoned from Naples. He and Rena have been enjoying the winter in spite of Rena's bouts with Parkinson's disease. Paul Rothery '15 has kept them well supplied with homegrown oranges. Hazen attended the Dartmouth Club of Southwest Florida meeting on February 12. About 125 were present - one of their largest crowds. He says they are a strong, well-knit group. Hazen and Rena plan to go home February 27. Their youngest son will be with them their last week in Naples.
Whitney Eastman expects to be released from the hospital in Ft. Myers any day now (as of February 27). Fie is making a very good recovery from surgery and anticipates recuperating in the sunshine of Sanibel. A visit from great-grandson Benjamin was a great tonic.
Karen took a day off from hospital visits to go to Everglades National Park to see the Key West Quail Dove, whose appearance has caused a sensation in the birding world.
