For the benefit of those readers who may not see Arthur Lord's always interesting "Tenner Topics," he has collected quite a few tidbits from Tenners who sent in their dues.
Norton and Florence Cushman are leading a "quiet life" in Shrewsbury, Mass. Norton enjoys his flower garden, reading, and television. He still drops in at the office once a week. Ray Sheets is still enjoying his retirement home in Rockport, Ill., with his two sons nearby. Harold Robinson can do a little walking, and although his eyesight is limited, he reads newspapers and. magazines. Pineo Jackson wrote that he and his daughter "had been still (very still) during the torrid weather." Ralph Baldwin and his wife have been married and living in Houston for over 61 years. A letter from Herb Coar had some pleasant reminiscing.
Helen Lowell visited a daughter in Duxbury, Mass., and spent a day with Hope Haug (Jesse Wilson's daughter) who came over from Marblehead. Louis Langdell's daughter MarieLouise Melvin and her husband took a trip to scenic spots in northern Canada. Bertha Sherman still lives in Grinnell, lowa.
Now if the rest of you send a brief report, I would have some grist for next month.
Response to dues notices was very good, and we are solvent for another year. We also did well in the Alumni Fund drive.
Art was about to take off for a week's visit to daughter Laura and family in Madison, Wis. He does get around.
"Fond memories of college days were ever a joy to him," writes Glenna Van Zant Wade in reporting the death on October 13 of her brother, Ralph D. Van Zant. I recall with pleasure a visit to Denver in 1956 when Whitney and I had a pleasant mini-reunion with Tenners Les McKay, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Woodcock, and Ralph.
