News this month is rather scarce from us '48's but perhaps we will have more to report next month. However, I was able to spot a few fellow classmates at the New Haven debacle. Ken and Elinor Young with their two daughters were there. Ken has again seen every game and has followed the team very closely having been spending some leisure time in Hanover this fall. Bob and Barbara Russell journeyed down from Saugerties. Bob was rightly proud of the fact his oldest son Fabian's picture was in the New York Daily News as one of the winners in their beautiful children picture contest. I also saw Rick and Mary Landon in the crowd but generally I was disappointed in not being able to find more of you.

All of you will be surprised to hear one of our last holdouts Johnny Lanzetta finally got caught. Johnny married Beverly Jane Hawthorne the end of August in New York, the bride's home. They will live in Albany, N. Y., when they return from a trip to Europe. Johnny is in the marble contracting business with his father.

An excellent example for all of us is Jimmy Johnson of Wallingford, Conn. Jimmy is extremely active in all the civic affairs in his home town in addition to capably holding down his job as commercial manager of the Southern New England Telephone Company office in Wallingford. Recently he was appointed chairman of the residential division of the Wallingford United Fund Campaign. He is also vice chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, the Red Cross and a Rotary Club member. Jim and Betty have three children, David, eleven; Cynthia, eight, and Susie, six.

Another New Englander, active in the Boston area, is Autty Knight. He is vice-president of the Knight Fuel and Lumber Company in Beverly, Mass., where he lives. He and Nancy have four children.

A recent arrival in the East is Johnny Wood whom you might remember was a native of Hanover when we started our first year at Dartmouth, but most o£ the time since has been living somewhere in the western part of the country. John is with Crown Zellerbach Paper Company and has recently been transferred to New York from Dallas as administrative supervisor. He is living in Hartsdale in Westchester. John and Barbara have a son, George, three years old.

Al Fritzche moved back to Connecticut after living in West Chester, Penna., for a long time. He and Pat and their four children are living in Riverside.

It was nice to hear Loren and Sue Spademan moved to another house with more room for the family. They are now living in Southfield, Mich. Loren is with the J. L. Hudson department store in Detroit. The family consists of Loren III, five, Bill, three and Sarah, two.

Also Hank and Lyn Woodward are trying to get settled at this time in a new house in Beloit, Wis. Hank is an assistant professor and chairman of the Geology Department at Beloit College. They have two sons, Blane, eight, and Mark, seven.

Dr. Phil Johnson has recently moved from North Carolina, where he was teaching in the Medical School, back to New Jersey. More details about Phil when I receive them. He is living in Montclair.

Dick and Jane Barlow moved to a new house in Trenton. Red Evans has been transferred to Illinois from Atlanta where he had lived for several years. Red is with the International Paper Company.

Next month I hope to fill in some of the details on those who recently moved. In the meantime, Santa Claus should fill all little '48s' stockings to the brimful and '61 should prove to be a good year for their Moms and Dads.
