We recently had a note from Karen Eastman, 1910 secretary, stating that she received a call from Dr. Roland Schmidt, son-in-law of Troy Parker, advising that the Schmidts were leaving their former location in Eugene, Ore., and planned to retire to Chapel Hill, N.C. It is assumed that this includes Janet Parker, Troy's widow, whose most recent address is listed as c/o R. Schmidt, P.O. Box 399, Hill City, S.D. 57745.

A note was also received from Carolyn Long Cotton reporting the death of her mother, Harriett W. Long, Fred's widow, on September 10 in Santa Barbara, following a short illness.

I regret the brevity of my notes for the current issue. But for the time being it seems that we will have to accept the old adage, "No news is good news."

Best wishes to all for the holiday season.
