We are indebted to Lawrence Kennison '26 for news of the retirement of Ralph Richardson as moderator of the town of Ayer, Mass. Ralph has served as moderator since 1927, a period of 53 years, following receipt of his degree from Harvard Law School. He has also held many other town offices including registrar of voters, a member of the conservation commission, and commissioner of trust funds, as well as being involved in various other community activities. His service as moderator is certainly a record.

Chinee and Margaret Allen spent three weeks in March on a trip to Portugal a fine trip and an opportunity to meet many fine people.

Pauline Hartshorn is traveling to Belgium in May, accompanied by Hank's sister. She will return in June. This follows her usual busy season of tax work.

The Van Huycks, having recovered from the effects of an automobile accident earlier in the year, traveled to Bermuda in April for a breath of spring.

Arnold and Helen Jenkins, with Arnold's health improved, have recently been on a trip to Maryland and Virginia.

And to conclude the record of recent travels, Pete and Alma Wheatley spent five weeks in Florida in January and February.

Mary Belle Wood wrote, proudly, that her grandson, David Bullis, has been accepted at Dartmouth the news arriving on Charlie's birthday. We refer you to the Wood family picture in the 40-year book, with David in the front row.

A letter has been received from Dick Countryman, written from Green Valley, where he and Theo have been spending a vacation of two months. They have enjoyed the company and hospitality of the Holmlunds and attended a meeting of the Dartmouth Club in Tucson with them, where Professor Gaylord brought news of the College. The class of 1924 was also represented at the meeting by Ed Streator and Doug Craig. Dick is still active in the practice of internal medicine in Rockford, Ill.

Hobey Holbrook keeps active in Santa Barbara, Calif., where he enjoys lawn bowling. (Roly Taylor, please note.)

Ash Castle also checked in from California He recently visited Leon Rothschild, finding him in improving health. Ash still enjoys sailing Dyad II. The same Dyad II that made the 40year book?

There will be a meeting of the executive committee of the class when the officers assemble for class officers weekend on May 2-3. We will report on the meeting in our next issue.
