Well, another school year (in the traditional sense) has come to an end, and your secretary extends his appreciation to all his classmates who took the two seconds to provide some info for the column. In the future, each classmate will receive a returnable postcard upon which I will ask you to give me some final blurbs to relate before the summer break.

Don Kubit, as you probably know, left academia (the University of Miami administration) to pursue a career in law. It is with pleasure that I announce to you that Don has become a partner of the firm Patton, Kanner, Segal, Zeller, King, and Kubit.

Woody Woodruff wrote the following: "Last November my dad (R. J. Jr. '37) and self sold our two weekly newspapers in St. Petersburg and the Gulf Beaches to the Clearwater Sun. My dreams of early retirement came to nought; I'm now directing the editorial side of the Sun's expanding countywide weekly group of papers. My father is general manager of the operation and is sharing the alarms and frustrations. Un- til he begins to look and feel his age, I suppose, I will not have any luck talking him into in- dulging in the purported pleasures of retire- ment. I have one cat and a dandy apartment on the beach where I go to catch some sleep. My social life is limited to covering a county with 24 separate city governments, most of which meet after dinner. Classmates with openings for a mattress-tester are invited to write."

Listen to this one. Sandy McGinnes starred in a local production of The Philadelphia Story. The Wellesley Players (Wellesley, Mass., is his hometown) are proud to have this velvet-voiced thespian as a member of their company. Sandy played the part of C. K. Decter Haven. (This part was played in the movie by Cary Grant, and obviously the casting director was either blind or has no idea who Cary Grant was.) I would cast Sandy as the straw man in TheWizard of Oz or as Ichabod Crane, but C. K. Dexter Haven, never! Sandy reports he sees Chip Noecker quite often in Boston. Chip works for the business consulting firm Arthur D. Little and lives in Concord, Mass.

Fred Levin M.D. wrote the following: "It looks as though I have nearly completed my last examination. Four years ago I was certified as a specialist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and I think 1 just passed my examination in the subspecialty of psychoanalysis (which means I'll soon graduate from the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis). I note that Roger Simon (another ping-pong player) is writing as creatively as ever. My own writing is confined to medical journals (I have an article in the 1980 Annual of Psychoanalysis entitled "Metaphor, Affect, and Arousal: What Makes Interpretations Work") and learning a lot from my patients." Does anyone remember the Bob Newhart show? It was one of my favorite TV shows. Fred, why is it that a lot of psychiatrists always wear sneakers? Bye.

Robert V. Bartles was honored as Class President of the Year during class officers weekend in May. The award cited his "superb leadership, infectious enthusiasm, and inexhaustible energies" in service to the class of '64 as well as on other College proj- ects, including the Alumni Council, the Upper Valley Dartmouth Club, and the Fraternity Board of Overseers.
