Thanks to responses (both solicited and unsolicited) your secretary has news from across the U.S.A. and from beyond its shores.

From Atherton, Calif., William H. "Bill"Davidow has submitted a photograph of the '57s and spouses in attendence at a lobster dinner get-together in San Francisco. The photograph is an excellent color shot which will appear in this column if the ALUMNI MAGAZINE is able to reproduce it. Bill reports that 18 couples from the class of '57 attended and that with additional invited guests from other classes, the group swelled to 30 couples.

"Many of us watched the Dartmouth of the West (Stanford) lose ignominiously to U.S.C., and then went over to the Menlo Circus Club for a New England lobster dinner. We were able to put together enough of the Injunaires to entertain us with Dartmouth songs. However, the most fun was to see old friends."

Bill went on to state that any difficulty recognizing the celebrants in the photo is "because we stay young in California." Some more objective viewers of this same photo have observed that it must be the fast life in California that wears them down.

From another source, we've learned that BillDavidow was named Intel Corporation's senior vice president and director of corporate marketing. Bill has been with Intel since 1973, most recently as vice president and general manager at the microcomputer systems division.

From Saratoga, Calif., Robert W. O'Neil informs us he has recently moved west from South Salem, N.Y. After 20 years with 1.8.M. in Westchester, N.Y., Bert has joined Amdahl Corporation as a planning consultant. Bert apparently flew out to his new residence at 15485 El Camino Grande, Saratoga, Calif., 95070, while his family drove across in an automobile convoy. Their reward was a stop in Aspen for some skiing.

Now settled in Saratoga, the O'Neils advise they're looking forward to missing out on New York's snow and ice season, although son Geoffrey won't have that opportunity as he'll, be back in Rochester, N.Y., where he's a freshman at R.I.T.

From Cambridge, England, Chris Wren writes that he has wound up a three-year tour in Cairo, Egypt, for the New York Times. The Times has assigned Chris to Cambridge where he will be partaking of an intensive course in Chinese at the Faculty of Oriental Studies. Next fall, Chris will be moving on to China on assignment as the Peking bureau chief for the Times.

In the interim, the Wrens find living in Cambridge a pleasant interlude after stints in Moscow, Cairo, and Iran. But, Chris adds, "It looks like I won't have time for my mid-life crisis until I return from Peking a few years hence."

From Hanover, N.H., we have learned that during Dartmouth's Head Agents Weekend Charles D. Winslow, our class's retiring head agent, received the Chairman's Citation, one of several awards presented to agents who provide the leadership that makes our Alumni Fund the tremendous success it is. In addition to the award presented to Chuck, a brass commemorative plate will be affixed to the permanent award board at the fund's Hanover offices.

Let's start thinking 25th reunion. It will take place in June of '82. Dan Goggin is off to a fast start as chairman of the reunion committee and has recruited a number of classmates for key committee positions. Frank Mooney will be the treasurer for the event; Mike Tompkins is attendance chairman. Tom Schwarz and MikSmith have agreed to produce the 25th yearbook. Bob Shirley will be planning the Saturday banquet, Charlie Sellman is in charge of sporting activities, and Aaron Daniels has agreed to chair a panel perhaps on career wives. George Johnston is in charge of the memorial service and Dick Perkins will be acting as publicity chairman. Dick requests that anyone with ideas for the reunion or who wishes to volunteer some help please contact him at Land/Vest, Inc., 14 Kilby Street, Boston, Mass., 02109. His phone number is (617) 7231800.

Think 25th! And keep the news coming.
